FIAT DUCATO CONVERSION FOR THE INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE OF WOOD BURNING AND PELLET BURNING STOVES AND BOILERS

FIAT DUCATO.... MORE THAN FOUR MILLION OF THIS FULL-SIZE PANEL VAN ON THE ROAD TODAY

The Fiat Ducato is a large-size van manufactured at the Italian Atessa plant (in province of Chieti) since 1981. It is also sold as a CitroenPeugeot and Dodge. This third generation was unveiled in 2006 and is characterized by its square dimensions which allow its load bay to be easily utilized. With four million models on the road, its spacious boxy load space, and fuel efficiency are greatly appreciated by transport companies, as well as tradesmen and who often convert the Ducato into a custom workshop on wheels.

Since 1996, the Syncro group has transformed thousands of Fiat Ducatos, finding tailor-made solutions for each individual client who comes to us, from all different sectors. The Syncro team works with each client to create the right combination of components to guarantee maximum efficiency, comfort and security whether your Ducato is working on the road, on a construction site or doing work in offices and homes.

A FULLY EQUIPPED CONVERSION FOR THE INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE OF PELLET AND WOOD BURNING STOVES, BOILERS, AND CHIMNEY PIPES

On this page we see photos of a solution for a Fiat Ducato converted for a company that carries out installation, testing and maintenance of wood and pellet-burning stoves and boilers.
The first step was to put down our 12 mm resin-coated marine plywood floor panel – fundamental in protecting the original van floor from denting and warping. It also creates a perfectly level loading bed and a solid base for mounting the racking components. Note the non-slip steel borders and embedded anchorage points. The left-hand side solution consists of a large shelving unit with 10 shelves, all complete with rubber mats and aluminum dividers. At the base, we see a wheel arch frame with door panel, creating valuable storage space around the wheel arch. A second base frame towards the bulkhead with automatic locking arm is used for safe storage and transport of organizer and tool cases.

The right-hand side solution is partially accessible from inside the van and partially from outside, via the side door. While the set up could make loading and unloading of materials more difficult, it greatly increases storage and facilitates access to the compartments of the racking units from the side door. The section of the racking unit that faces inwards consists of a wheel arch frame with door panel, five shelves all complete with rubber mats and dividers, a pull-out tray that houses two metal organizers cases and a large metal drawer mounted out telescopic slides, complete with recessed handle, automatic locking mechanism and aluminum dividers. The part facing outwards consists of two open storage compartments at the base, two forward-slanting shelves for tool and organizer cases and, at the top, two shelves with dividers.

Along the bulkhead, we mounted our metal drawer units with PMMA clear plastic drawers. These pieces are one of the flagships of the whole modular Syncro system. Contents of all drawers can be quickly identified without having to open the drawers, and the combination of exclusive Syncro design (with individual automatic locking mechanisms) and the highest quality, long-lasting materials, guarantees a lifetime of maintenance-free usage.

The van owner chose a few key accessories from the far-reaching range of Syncro System accessories available to customize this Ducato conversion to fit its working needs. We mounted the hand-washing kit with 10-liter water tank to the right rear door, a worktop / vise mount fixed to the left-hand side end panel, along with a first aid kit and a 280 mm paper towel roll holder. Bright lighting on the van is guaranteed, thanks to a powerful, compact, energy-efficient, 15 Watt LED ceiling light.

This Ducato will be used for the installation and maintenance of wood and pellet burning stoves and water heaters, as well as installation and maintenance of chimney pipes. To carry out these tasks, the Syncro team installed an electric panel with three sockets and a circuit breaker, an extension cord reel, a cable reel, and a compact but powerful 330 liter per minute compressor with a 24 liter tank. It is a compressor that isn't adapted for use over long periods, but is sufficient for efficiently cleaning chimney pipes and water heaters. Its advantages can be found in its compact size, as well as nicely compact....price.
