The smaller the van, the more customised solutions have to be to exploit all available space and still meet the needs of the owner.
The vehicle illustrated on this page is a particularly clear example of this as rather than a dedicated commercial vehicle it is really just a small car converted into a van. The photos show a Fiat Panda belonging to a fire prevention company in which extra storage space has been created simply by removing the rear seats. The “cargo compartment” can be accessed by opening the liftgate at the rear but, as we shall see, items can also be accessed from the rear doors thanks to the clever design of the racking system. This custom solution has turned “small” into “super-functional”!
There are many possible answers to this question, because it really depends on what you need and the type of work you do.
Obviously, the main problems to overcome are:
Luckily, all these problems can be solved thanks to the flexible design of Syncro racking and the vast experience accumulated by Syncro installers.
In this Panda, for example, the decision was taken to make the racking accessible partly from the liftgate and partly from the side doors.
Opening the liftgate of this fire prevention firm’s Panda we are faced with the side panels of two racking columns, both equipped with tool. On the left is a Syncroblock bar with metal hooks; on the right are two bars equipped with plastic clips for holding tools ready for use.
A configurable shelf with a non-slip mat at the bottom sits across the two racking modules. Between the two racking columns is a partly enclosed space for storing medium-sized objects.
The two racking modules that appeared as equipped walls when seen from the back are also accessible through the Panda’s rear doors. With the rear doors open, you can see that the racking actually consists of three levels arranged to follow the contours of the bodywork. There is an open compartment at the bottom that serves as a supporting frame, a drawer cabinet in the middle and then the connecting shelf at the top.
The left door provides access to:
The right door provides access to: a
The writing board kit transforms the drawer in which it is installed! The kit consists of a marble-look plywood board with a hole at the front. The board is hinged at the back of the drawer and is held in horizontal position by two stops at the front.
The board can support an electronic device or a writing pad, transforming the drawer into a mini-desk. It can also be raised to permit access to the drawer’s contents thanks to the practical hole at the front.
As the vehicle on this page shows, there are no size limits for Syncro System racking. Our installers can always help you get the best from your vehicle!
