Many of our Syncro clients work in areas where there is no available electricity. For this reason, over the years, we have created various ways to power tools and machinery onboard.
On this page we see an Opel Combo L2 upfitted for work on road construction sites, with left-hand side racking components, a roof-top
rotating warning beacon, and a powerful 1000 Watt inverter.
Let’s start at the beginning: the key to every good upfit is lining the cargo space. On this Opel Combo, we first installed a 12 mm resin-coated plywood
floor panel with recessed steel anchorage points for locking down cargo. Our technicians also fit anti-slip steel edges along the borders where the van doors open, adding extra protection just where you need it.
The floor panel is made of specialized plywood, extremely water and humidity resistant. The surface is coated in a durable non-slip resin sealant. The floor panel guarantees a workman tough and perfectly flat base for every type of upfit.
The
interior paneling on this Combo is made from .8 mm aluminum – extremely durable and lightweight. Cargo panels protect the original cargo surfaces from denting and damage and all panels are pre-cut and pre-drilled so they are ready for immediate installation.
Moving on to the racking units: on the left-hand side, over the wheel arch we mounted an
open wheel arch base frame with raised front edge in aluminum creating valuable storage space. Above that is a drawer unit with two 100 mm drawers and two pull-out trays for storing four portable organizer cases (from 66 mm) complete with plastic mini bins. Both the trays and the drawers are complete with individual locking mechanisms – also making it impossible to forget and leave them open since they automatically lock shut when they are closed.
The racking components – moving toward the bulkhead – consist of an open compartment complete with strap for safe transport of tool cases. Above this we mounted to shelves complete with metal dividers and rubber mats. At the top, running the length of the entire racking unit, we positioned a long shelf which also comes with dividers and mats.
An extremely useful accessory for those who do on-site construction work is the folding-down worktop / vise mount: for this upfit, we mounted the PM4 model, with automatic opening and closing locking system, complete with “ 125 mm vise with with pipe jaws and swivel base.
Other accessories mounted on the Combo include the paper towel roll holder and the universal fire extinguisher bracket
Like we said, the Syncro catalog has various options for on-board electricity. For this upfit, we mounted a 1000 Watt pure sine wave inverter that connects to an auxiliary battery providing sufficient energy for moderate electrical needs.
Another accessory fixed to the roof of the van is the warning light: a rotating orange warning light fixed directly to the roof and connected to a switch conveniently located inside the van’s cab.
Mission accomplished for the Syncro System technicians – another upfitted van on the road working safely, productively and efficiently!
