Bruno Bonifacio, sponsored by Syncro System

Passing into the point standings was the Brazilian driver Bruno Bonifacio in the Formula Renault 3.5. In his debut performance - after having moved from the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 - Bruno drove his first race for the Draco squad on the Motor de Aragòn circuit in Alcaniz, Spain. Coming in 11th in his second race on Sunday, April 26th was enough to earn Bruno his first point of the season - thanks to an outstanding performance with difficult track conditions, due to heavy rain. He started in 15th position, and fought back, placing 10th overall, due to the disqualification of another driver. He took the bronze medal, however, in the "rookie" category. Commenting on his first race for Draco, promising young driver, Bruno Bonifacio, flagship of the Syncro System group, said, "I made it to the finish of my first race in Formula Renault 3.5, maneuvering into position and battling to get ahead. Roberto Merhi (who withdrew in race 1, NdR) is a driver I watched race some years ago on television. It was really great to be able to race alongside him. We continue taking small steps ahead and I am really happy about it." Pietro Fantin, teammate of Bruno, who joined Draco in 2013, is by now a veteran in the Formula 3.5 and finished with excellent results, obtaining 6th place – earning him 8 points in the standings.

Even more enthusiastic was Bonifacio's comment after the second race. Fantin suffered transmission problems at the start of the race, which forced him to lose ground, settling up an 11th place finish. Bruno said, "It was a great race - really fun. I think the viewers got a terrific show. I battled with Roberto Merhi (9th place in race 2, NdR), who is for me, one of the most competitive drivers out there right now...not just in this circuit, but in the entire motorsport world." The next Formula Renault 3.5 races will be held on the 24th of May on the Ciucuit de Monaco in Montecarlo.
