Peugeot Expert for a film and television company

EXPERT: THE MID-SIZE PANEL VAN FROM PEUGEOT

The Expert from the French automotive house Peugeot is a mid-size van introduced on the market in 1996. The completely restyled second generation Expert came out in 2007, and boasted a range of improvements involving all aspects of the van. The new Expert has a greater loading volume and capacity, a more powerful engine, increased driving comfort with a more cube-shaped cargo area, which maximizes the cargo space for loading goods and equipment, as well as transforming it into a mobile workshop. Even today, the expert is still modern and competitive and many companies choose it and appreciate it as a practical and versatile commercial vehicle.

INTERIOR LININGS AND LOAD BARS FOR A UNIQUE CONVERSION SOLUTION FOR A TELEVISION AND FILM COMPANY

On this page, we see an example of an Expert conversion as a location vehicle for a film and television company. For this transformation, we didn't mount any shelving. The company has to transport material and equipment to filming locations. The main piece of equipment is a large cart that while not heavy, is particularly bulky. As always, we started from the bottom. The first step was putting down the 12 mm resin-coated, Syncro-tough plywood floor panel, complete with non-slip steel borders and recessed anchorage cups for tying down cargo. The floor board is indispensable -- it not only reinforces the van's original flooring, but creates a perfectly level loading floor. Thanks to the extremely durable, yet lightweight plywood, it is built to last – maintenance and problem free. Both wheel arches are protected by a pair of wheel arch covers in steel and plywood – the same plywood used for the bulkhead paneling. Last but not least, the cargo area walls and doors are covered in pre-coated galvanized steel paneling. They are laser cut to perfectly fit the shape of the Expert, yet mounted without touching the original walls. In this way, even large heavy equipment can be moved around without worrying about damaging the original van walls. As mentioned, the film and TV company must transport a bulky equipment cart. Solution solved...three load bars with rubber coverings on one side and notched grooves on the longer sides, allowing for the insertion of a strap and buckle or ratchet clasp. The bars are fitted between tracks, which have been mounted to the sides of the van. The bars can be easily moved or removed when necessary. To quickly tie down all types of cargo, the Syncro team mounted another notched track along the bulkhead, and numerous hooks fixed directly to the body of the van that can be used together with those mounted to. Securing all types of cargo with ratchet straps, ropes and elastic cords. We finished by guaranteeing a brightly lit cargo area thanks to a powerful, compact, energy-efficient, 15 W LED ceiling light.
