Syncro racking for an electrician in the new Citroën Jumpy

JUMPY: THE NEW MEDIUM SIZE VAN FROM CITROEN

The Jumpy is the new medium size van from the French manufacturer Citroen. While the Jumpy has been in production since 1994, the 2016 version is completely new. Though still loosely based on the second series introduced in 2007, the new model is far more practical, manoeuvrable and efficient.  As usual, the Syncro Group has been quick off the mark and is already offering owners of the new Jumpy a complete range of custom products, including interior linings, roof racks and storage modules. In fact, anybody operating a new Jumpy can be sure of finding the right solution for converting their vans into efficient mobile workshops.  The photos on this page illustrate a Citroen Jumpy with a customised racking system for an electrician.

RACKING FOR AN ELECTRICIAN IN THE NEW JUMPY

The first thing the Syncro installation team did was protect the van’s bodywork with interior linings. Like all vans, the new Jumpy can suffer damage to its body if used for daily operations without proper protection. Syncro’s installers fitted a 12 mm thick, resinated plywood floor liner with stainless steel protective edging at the doors and recesses for cargo anchors. They also lined the walls with painted steel panels, shaped by a precision laser cutting machine to ensure a perfect match for the van body.  Once the interior of the van was adequately protected, the Syncro team went on to install the racking as such.  The racking along the left side wall of this Jumpy stands on two wheel arch cabinets, one closed by a lift-and-rotate door and one open.  Above the closed wheel arch cabinet are two trays containing steel component cases with internal compartments. The left side racking also provides three steel drawers on ball-bearing runners, complete with non-slip mats, dividers and a system that locks them shut automatically.  The storage on this side of the van is completed by a 6 shelves, all with non-slip mats and dividers.  The racking on the right of the van is very simple. The base unit is formed by the two side panels and a lift-and-rotate door for easy access to the space around the wheel arch. Above this are three shelves with mats and dividers, and further up again a cabinet with 8 tilting, transparent containers made from top quality PMMA, featuring an ergonomic design and automatic locking buttons.  So even this new Jumpy has been successfully transformed into a highly effective travelling workshop to facilitate the work of its electrician owner!
