The Doblò is a small van from the Fiat Group, with overall dimensions similar to those of a medium size saloon car. EVERYTHING TIDY AND PLENTY OF FREE SPACE ON THE FLOOR
This page shows how the Syncro team satisfied the customer requirements to leave nearly all the floor free for bulky cargo and materials and to exploit the full height of the bulkhead to store small parts and tools.
As always, the first step in the installation was to fit body liners. Like all vans, the Doblò comes with virtually no protection for its side walls and floor. This leaves the bodywork open to damage by cargo and tools falling or sliding around when the van is on the road or during normal loading and unloading operations. In this particular case, the Syncro team fitted a floor liner in non-slip, resinated birch plywood, complete with steel edge protectors and recessed cups for the floor anchors. The side walls and doors were then protected by tough but lightweight honeycomb plastic panels, laser cut to ensure a perfect match for the shape of the body.
Shelves and drawers were then installed in the front of the load compartment, occupying only 35 cm of floor and leaving more than a metre free for cargo.
The bottom of the racking consists of a compartment closed by a parallelogram action door, ideal for storing loose items.
Further up we find one large drawer and two smaller ones, all with ball bearing mounted runners, an automatic system for holding them shut, internal dividers and non-slip mats. The solution for transporting small items consists of two cases in pull-out trays with a telescopic action that lets you open the cases without having to remove them.
The Doblò’s racking system is completed by three shelves, again with mats and dividers.
