Syncro System on the podium in 2017 with MP Motorsport

The Syncro System Group sponsored MP Motorsport, partnered by Draco Marketing, in the 2017 season of Formula 2. The team entered Englishman Jordan King and the 19-year-old Brazilian Sergio Sette Camara in all 11 rounds of the championship. It was the young Brazilian who gave the team a win on the Spa circuit in Belgium and a second place at the Monza Grand Prix in the autumn.

The season’s success stories: Spa and Monza

MP Motorsport got off to a great start after the summer break with Sergio Sette Camara returning to form on a circuit that has seen him excel in the past: the Brazilian finished first on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit near Stavelot, Belgium in late August. In eleventh position at the end of qualifying sessions held in pouring rain, he worked his way up to sixth place in race 1, in which Leclerc and Rowland were disqualified. Success came in race 2, with a brilliant start and an error-free performance that gave him his first win as a professional driver. The next week, racing moved to Italy for the Monza Grand Prix. Both MP Motorsport drivers did well in qualifying, with King finishing in the third row and Sette Camara in the sixth. The Brazilian finished race 1 in sixth place with the Englishman in tenth. In race 2, Camara finished on the podium with his team-mate Jordan King recording the fastest lap.

Who is Sergio Sette Camara?

Sergio Sette Camara was born on the 23rd May 1998  in Belo Horizonte, Brazil and was still a boy when he started to pursue his dream of driving in Formula 1 like his idols Ayrton Senna, Felipe Massa and Rubens Barrichello, the last two of whom had raced for the Draco team. Like them, he began in kart racing before moving up to Formula 3 at the age of 16. He was promoted to Formula 2 in 2016 and joined MP Motorsport, beginning his career as a professional driver.
