Racking solutions for Opel Vivaro 2019
The Opel Vivaro has been produced by French manufacturer Citroën since June 1994. The model is now in its third series.
After the acquisition of Opel by the Peugeot-Citroen Group, the company’s medium size van was rebranded as the Vivaro.
The Vivaro is a modern, compact van with a good size to cargo capacity ratio.
Particularly popular with Vivaro users are Syncro’s transparent container cabinets, as compact versions can be installed over the van’s wheel arches without protruding into the cargo compartment.
RACKING SYSTEMS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE VIVARO
In this van, over a marble-look plywood floor liner, Syncro installed a simple racking system consisting largely of configurable shelves with non-slip mats and internal dividers. Some of these shelves are accessible directly from the van’s side door. The system also includes two high-strength steel drawers mounted on telescopic, ball-bearing runners. The interior of the load compartment is illuminated by a powerful LED ceiling lamp.
A VIVARO WITH RACKING ON THE LEFT AND ON THE BULKHEAD
The racking system seen here leaves most of the cargo compartment free. After protecting the van’s original floor with a marble-look plywood floor liner and its walls with painted steel liner panels, the Syncro team installed a column of racking with pull-out trays for eight component cases, removable plastic containers and a top shelf with space dividers at the bulkhead.
Along the left wall, they then fitted a simple configuration with three shelves, complete with internal dividers and another shelf of removable plastic containers.
Two perforated panels with square holes for plastic hooks and clips were then fitted, one on each side of the van.
Finally, the van’s roof was turned into useful cargo space by fitting a steel and aluminium roof rack with side fences and a rear loading roller.
RACKING ON BOTH SIDES OF A 2019 VIVARO
Syncro System racking is fully customisable, and can be configured to meet the needs of individual users. These photos show a Vivaro with a racking system based on shelves with dividers, and drawers with telescopic, ball-bearing runners on the left and right.
The racking system is complemented by a series of movable and adjustable hooks, a bar and strap cargo retaining system and an LED light powerful enough to illuminate the entire cargo compartment.
FLOOR AND BODYWORK LINERS FOR THE VIVARO
Like all vans, the Vivaro’s floor and walls can easily be damaged if left without adequate protection. Rusty bodywork can be extremely expensive to repair and significantly reduces a van’s resale value over the years. Such damage and expense can easily be avoided by fitting 12 mm thick plywood floor liners, bodywork liners in painted steel or aluminium, wheel ach liners, window grilles and other accessories.
