A Renault Kangoo for an electrical business
The company that asked us to fit out the van shown on this page installs and repairs civil and industrial electrical systems. The van itself is a 2021 Renault Kangoo. While the cargo compartment is far from large, it has been transformed into a fully functional mobile workshop by a Syncro racking system that is carefully designed to meet the needs of the users. L
The Renault Kangoo’s complete lining system
Protection first and foremost! Lining a van’s walls and floor is an essential first step towards extending its working life and reducing the risk of dents, scratches, and eventually, rust. The floor of this Kangoo is lined with a plywood floor liner with a marble-look surface, while the top parts of the walls and doors are protected by painted steel panelling.
The Kangoo’s equipped wall
The only racking as such in this electrical firm’s Kangoo is on the left. The configuration consists of side panels of different depth, chosen to allow for the wheel arch and the contour of the side wall, and a series of horizontal elements, including:
- A case compartment at floor level, with a kit consisting of an end panel to support cases of all sizes, a rail at the top, and a sliding shuttle to hold the cases in place, complete with a knob for adjusting pressure.
- Two configurable shelves installed with their flanges facing up, fitted with adapters to hold Syncro’s patented, clear plastic cases – a great way to keep small items and spares tidy.
- Another configurable shelf with non-slip mat, space dividers and a raised back panel to increase storage capacity and stop small items falling down behind.
- A top shelf with removable plastic containers. These tough blue plastic containers are designed for easy removal and transport. The front panel even incorporates a holder for a label to show what’s inside.
The Kangoo’s cargo retaining accessories
Useful accessories have been installed on the left and right of this Kangoo. The side panels of the racking described above are fitted with a paper roll holder and a spray can rack. On the other side of the van, where there is no racking, the accessories are fitted directly to the lining panels. On this side we have two different cargo retaining accessories: a hook and strap lashing system used to secure a stepladder on the floor, and a pair of multi-purpose pockets arranged one above the other.
