BYD’s new van, the ETP3, has arrived
Chinese auto makers BYD launched the compact ETP3 on North European markets a few years back. The van has now reached Italy too.
This all-electric vehicle is currently available in just one version, with a rear hatch and two sliding side doors. The van boasts an elegant, rounded shape and a maximum carrying capacity of 3.5 cubic metres. The ETP3 is powered by a second generation BYD Blade battery with a longer form factor and improved performance compared to the previous version, at a lower cost.
The first ETP3 to pass through Syncro System’s workshops
The van seen in these photos is the first ever BYD ETP3 to reach Syncro System for the installation of van equipment. The project was limited to fitting interior liners and a roof transport system.
Syncro racking centres are always ready when a new make and model of van arrives. Syncro’s factory in Cassola pre-shapes and pre-drills liner panels for all interior surfaces to suit the dimensions of the model concerned, while the modular design of Syncro racking and accessories allow them to be installed in any space exactly as the customer needs.
Syncro’s custom-made liners in the BYD ETP3
The BYD ETP3 comes with an aluminium tread plate floor liner as standard equipment. The Syncro team fitted wheel arch covers made from aluminised steel for the top panels and aluminium chequer plate for the vertical surfaces.
They also fitted steel panelling on the upper sections of the walls and doors.
A roof rack to increase the carrying capacity of the BYD ETP3
Syncro then installed a roof rack on the BYD ETP3 to allow bulky items of cargo to be transported on top of the van, leaving more room inside.
The roof rack is made up of two side fences and three crossbars, with Ultrasilent rubber profiles under the first two to reduce noise and vibration when the van is moving.
