On this page, we see a Ford Courier that we equipped for a company that designs, produces and distributes industrial cooling systems specifically for telecommunications and data centers. It also manages enclosure coolers, heat exchangers, refrigeration units, air conditioners and ventilation systems – all specifically for the telecommunications sector, to maintain correct temperatures of the data transmission systems. The Ford Courier touts ample loading space for a compact van – with low loading floor, double rear doors, side door and two comfortable passenger seats. With the addition of Syncro racking components and accessories, it becomes an efficient service and repair vehichle, capable of carrying out fast and efficient on-site maintenance and repair work for industrial cooling systems.
MAKING USE OF 101% OF COURIER'S CARGO SPACE
As is almost always the case, the first step to transforming this Courier was installing the Syncro-tough, resin-coated, non-slip, wooden floor panel, complete with steel borders. The floor panel is extremely useful in that it not only protects the original van floor from the denting or everyday wear and tear, but also creates a perfectly level loading floor and a solid base for mounting the racking components.
The racking components are concentrated on the left-hand side, leaving the loading area largely free for transporting even large parts and equipment. At the base, we positioned a wheel arch frame with front door panel, creating valuable storage space. Above it, we find the pull-out worktop / vise mount, complete with 110 mm forged steel vise with steel pipe jaws and rotating base. The worktop is easy to slide out and lock into position whenever it is needed. Moving upwards, we see two drawer units with a total of six extremely sturdy steel drawers – mounted on telescoping ball-bearing slides, and all complete with rubber mats, aluminum dividers, and recessed handles with individual automatic locking mechanisms. There is also a sliding tray that holds a metal organizer case with internal mix&match bins for small parts and fittings. The case can be removed and carried on-site if needed, but can be also opened while remaing securely in its tray, for easy access to its contents while in the van. At the very top, we mounted a shelf with forward-angles end panels, also complete with dividers and mat.
This Courier conversion solution is greatly enhanced by a number of carefully chosen accessories from the vast array found in the Syncro catalog. We mounted the universal fire extinguisher bracket (quickly and easily adaptable to any size extinquisher), a paper towel roll holder with spring-action lever, a first-aid kit positioned in easy reach, two aluminum tracks with strap and clasp for quickly securing all types of cargo. Bright lighting is assured by a powerful, yet compact 10 Watt ceiling light. Last but not least, the Courier has excellent ventilation, thanks to two ventilation ducts, one positioned at the bottom of the side door and the other at the top of the left rear door.
