A sheet of aluminium chequer plate is applied around the cutout to protect the side panel against damage by the vice as it slides into the racking.
This folding, telescopic support in stainless steel is designed for use with a pull-out vice bench. It adds strength and stability to the bench, greatly improving user experience. When closed, it occupies very little room. The support effectively doubles the strength of the bench. Opening is easy thanks to a built-in gas spring. The support is secured in closed position by three practical knobs. This accessory can be used with all makes and models of van.
It requires a minimum installation height of 425 mm above the floor liner in order to close and extends to a maximum height of 1,100 mm.
Fold-away vice benches have a single-piece frame that fixes to the side of the racking and an easily accessible handle. To extend the vice bench, simply pull the handle towards you and fold the bench outwards and downwards. The bench descends safely and smoothly thanks to gas springs and automatically locks in place at the end of its travel. To fold the bench away again, just pull the handle towards you and push the bench upwards and inwards. The bench again locks in place automatically at the end of its travel. The surface that supports the vice is covered with a panel of aluminium tread plate. Fold-away vice benches are available in two versions:
Because of their design, fold-away vice benches need to be fixed to the side of a racking column near the van’s doors. Pull-out vice benches on the other hand are horizontal elements and can be installed at any height, though they also need to be near one of the van’s doors. They can be installed above or below:
