The
Movano by Opel is considered one of the most updated and modern large vans on the market today. It was originally unveiled in 1999 and the latest generation, totally restyled, Movano was introduced in 2010.
The new model has decidedly improved upon the already positive qualities seen in previous versions.
The Movano sports a smart exterior, with availability in a large range of height, length and weight configurations, spacious cargo area, detailed finishing, and a quality built motor. The Movano has remained popular through the years and Syncro System, as a result, has upfitted a good number of them.
On this page is an example of the Movano L1 H1 upfit with
interior protective paneling and practical yet simple racking units on both sides of the cargo area.
The interior upfit consists of a 12 mm resin-coated plywood
floor panel, complete with stainless steel borders along the lengths (corresponding to the van's doors) and recessed steel anchorage points, making it easy to secure material and equipment. The durable non-slip surface protects the plywood, as well as facilitates safe loading and unloading.
The bulkhead is also protected with 12 mm resin-coated plywood paneling, while the side walls and doors are protected with extremely durable, pre-coated, galvanized steel paneling.
The racking unit on the left side of the van consists of a
wheel arch frame base with vertically opening front door panel, creating ideal storage for material and equipment. Moving towards the bulkhead, we installed a second base frame – this one open and equipped with a strap and clasp to securely transport tool and
portable utility cases.
To the end panel of the racking unit, we mounted a pull-out
worktop /vise mount with a forged steel 110 mm vise, complete with pipe jaws and swivel base. The perfect solution for small, on-board jobs.
Above the two wheel arch frames, we added two
drawer units with a total of ten steel drawers. Each drawer is mounted on telescoping ball-bearing glides, is equipped with an automatic locking mechanism, and comes with rubber mat and dividers.
At the top of the left-hand side racking unit is a
shelving unit with four shelves with raised sides to keep materials in place.
The unit on the right-hand side is even more straightforward: a wheel arch frame with forward-tilting base board panel, and topped with a 25 mm resin-coated plywood counter top.
To complete this Movano upfit, we added a number of useful
accessories: aluminum tracks, straps and clasps making it easy to secure and transport materials and equipment.
Mounted to the end panel on the left side is a
paper towel roll holder (rolls of 280 mm). On the bottom right side, we installed a universal fire extinguisher bracket that can easily adapt to the dimensions of any fire extinguisher.
Ultimately this a simple upfit, but perfectly suited to the working requirements of our client.
