What are the requests most commonly made by electricians? Here are a few to start. Though some of these are common to anyone who uses a van for their work, some are specific to electricians.

Liners: they are not all alike! Here’s the solution for this Citan
Some three quarters of the interior of the Citan L1 H1 seen on this page has been protected by liners. The raised floor installed over the framework of the underfloor drawers is made from plywood panels with a marble-look surface. The side walls and rear doors are protected by steel panelling.
The bulkhead has been left uncovered in this case but Syncro can supply and fit tailor-made panels for this surface too, in a choice of plywood, steel, aluminium or honeycomb plastic.
Equipping the Citan’s small side walls
The small size of this vehicle did not prevent the installation of an efficient racking system. Syncro took account of the customer’s requests and designed a solution that occupies both sides of the van and, more importantly, provides ample underfloor storage. This electrician’s Citan L1 H1 is equipped as follows.
The racking on the left wall consists only of two side panels and two configurable shelves with non-slip mats, space dividers and a rear panel to stop items falling down behind. The floor-level compartment is equipped with a strap-type case transport kit made up of an end plate for supporting the cases, a section of Syncroblock bar at the back, and a set of hooks and straps that can be adjusted to suit all sizes of case.
The right wall features a low floor-level compartment, four large metal drawers with bottom mats and internal dividers, a top shelf, and a pull-out vice bench tucked between the bottom compartment and the first drawer. The vice bench is a particularly useful accessory for electricians, thanks to the inclusion of a steel vice. It takes up very little space when closed but opens instantly to provide a large, stable work surface for minor repairs and adjustments.

Where space is in short supply, clever solutions come to the rescue! We’ve seen one example already, in the form of the pull-out bench that turns into a robust work surface in just a few seconds. But there’s another aspect of the racking in this electrician’s Citan that provides plenty of extra space for carrying equipment and materials without cluttering up the interior.
We’re talking about the long underfloor drawers and their robust frame. These drawers function just like any other drawer, open all the way thanks to ball-bearing mounted runners, and make full use of the space under the raised floor. Two drawers are accessible from the back of the van while a third opens through the sliding side door. Underfloor drawers provide a smart and discreet way to carry all you need – and more besides – without cluttering up the floor of you van!

Don’t worry about the small size of the Citan L1 H1. You can ask for functional accessories to be installed in the most compact of vans.
In this case, only one accessory has been added to complement the racking. A section of Syncroblock slider bar can be seen on the bulkhead, complete with hooks and lashing straps.
