This particular Mercedes Citan is an L1H1 model manufactured in 2012. It has been fitted out in a very simple manner in response to the customer’s request to retain plenty of free space to carry bulky equipment and materials while having enough storage to hold all the necessary consumables, tools, spares and sundries.
A basic racking solution for the Citan
The first job done on this Citan was to protect its interior. Syncro always recommends the installation of liners to protect the floor and walls. Otherwise, wear and tear, dents and scratches can easily expose the body to rust and led to expensive repairs or a dramatic reduction in the resale value of the vehicle.
This Citan has been protected only by a floor liner consisting of pre-shaped and pre-drilled panels of plywood with a marble-look resin surface, arranged over the original sheet metal floor. Syncro can also supply and fit lining panels for your van’s doors and walls, wheel arches, bulkhead and roof.
The racking system on one side of the Citan
All the racking in this Mercedes Citan L1H1 is concentrated on the left side wall, which is taken up in full.
The racking consists of a floor-level case transport system obtained by fitting a simple set of adjustable hooks and straps to the front of an open compartment. This simple addition allows the awkwardly shaped area around the wheel arch to carry cases of various shapes and sizes.
The same column also contains a metal drawer with a non-slip mat and internal dividers for separating contents, two large shelves and one far smaller one located between the inside side panel and the drawer.
