The
Fiat Ducato has been and continues to be a favorite choice for commercial vans - so much so, that over the years, the three identical models – Ducato, Jumper, and Boxer – have sold over 4.5 million vans.
And considering its robustness and durability, there are still lots of these older vans on the road, continuing to keep up the good work.
Most of
Syncro System upfits are installed on new vehicles, just off the assembly line, but that doesn't mean that it is not possible to install upfits on
older vans, too. Even if the van doesn't have lots of years ahead of it, thanks to the modularity of Syncro racking units, they are easy to take apart and refit in a new van, when the time comes.
The photos on this page show a much older 1994 Ducato with shelving and drawer units on the left hand side.
Taking a closer look, we see a
wheel arch frame with forward-tilting baseboard, creating convenient storage space.
Above that we mounted a
pull-out worktop/vise mount with a forged steel 125 mm vise, complete with pipe jaws and swivel base.
We also installed a
drawer unit with four pull-out trays for the
Galaxy portable utility cases with a clear plastic lid.
Next to it, we mounted a second drawer unit with two large steel drawers with double ball bearing glides - each one holding up to 100 kilos.
Above those, we placed a
shelving unit with aluminum dividers, and finally at the top, we mounted another metal drawer unit with forward-tiling transparent drawers, complete with individual dividers and automatic locking system.
Along the floor of the bulkhead, we installed our portable utility case storage and locking system. Above that, you see a shelving unit with two of the three shelves closed with a front door panel.
The finishing touches of this Ducato L2 H1 include a low energy but bright
neon ceiling light, and the
Syncro track and strap system for quick and easy securing of material and equipment.
A simple yet complete upfit, that turns even an older model Ducato into a workshop on wheels!
