A simple racking system in a Toyota Proace

A simple racking solution in a Toyota Proace

Sometimes, a simple racking system is all it takes to make your van far more functional. The one installed by Syncro System in this Toyota Proace is a case in point. Everything is concentrated on the left of the van, leaving the rest of the vehicle completely free, apart from a few useful cargo retaining accessories. A roof rack has also been installed, greatly increasing the van’s carrying capacity.

As always, Syncro System designed the racking for this Proace in close collaboration with the customer. The solution is therefore strictly based on his requirements and preferences. In fact, every Syncro racking system is fully customised and adapted to the needs of the van and the user.

Syncro System racking for the Proace

Start with the liners! These four words are repeated regularly at Syncro dealers. We always advise customers to protect their van’s floor and bodywork before installing racking and accessories. The van seen here is fitted with a plywood floor liner with a marble-look resin surface and protective metal edges at the rear and side doors. The vehicle’s walls and doors are lined with custom-made, pre-shaped and pre-drilled panels in painted steel

Racking on the left of the Proace

The racking on the left of this Toyota Proace starts with a floor-level case compartment with hooks and adjustable straps. Given the presence of the wheel arch, the space available for carrying tool cases is limited to the rear of the compartment, but the area at the front serves as useful storage space too. Further up is a set of three configurable shelves, all equipped with non-slip mats and internal space dividers.

Tailor-made accessories for the Proace

As is often the case with fully customised racking systems, a few well-chosen accessories can make a big difference. The van’s right side and bulkhead are equipped with the same, extremely useful and versatile accessory: a bar with lashing straps and sliding attachments installed at about ⅓ of the way up. This type of bar is ideal for use with lashing straps, which can be tightened around cargo of any shape and size to keep it securely in place. The interior of the load compartment is illuminated by a powerful, energy-efficient LED ceiling lamp.

A roof rack for the Proace

If you drive a compact van like the Proace, it’s well worth remembering that the roof can be used to provide valuable additional space. This particular Toyota Proace is fitted with a roof rack comprising three aluminium cross bars with rubber top profiles and stainless steel side fences. The front cross bar is fitted with Syncro’s famous, patented Ultrasilent profile, which dramatically reduces the noise and vibration generated by the roof rack.
