The
Courier is a small-size panel van recently launched by
Ford. Together with the
Transit,
Custom and
Connect, it completes the range of new vehicles offered by the German-American automobile manufacturer.
The Courier’s compact size puts it in the category of models like
Fiorino,
Nemo and
Bipper – a city car that offers all the advantages of a real van. With level and easily accessible loading area, double rear doors, side door, ample cargo space, the Courier provides and interesting alternative for many small businesses, tradesmen, and even large companies that must work in cities where smaller vans are a big advantage.
Here we see an example of a Courier conversion with a basic
shelving unit, floor panel and roof rack. All good conversions start with a solid base. For this Courier, we installed a resin-coated, marine plywood
floor panel with steel borders along the edges corresponding to the van doors. Floor panels are also available in chequered-plate aluminum. Both options create a sturdy level surface, ideal for easy loading and unloading, while at the same time protecting the original van floor, and providing a solid base for mounting racking components.
The racking unit on the left-hand side consists of a basic shelving unit. At the bottom there is a large storage compartment. Just above it, are two shelves complete with rubber mats and metal dividers. The lower part was cut to fit the shape of the wheel arch. On the end panel, we mounted one of the most popular Syncro accessories – the
paper towel roll holder (for 280 mm rolls).
To take advantage of the roof-top space for extra storage and transport of larger cargo, we mounted our stainless steel and aluminum
roof rack with Ultrasilent patented crossbars designed to reduce noise and vibration while on the road. The roof rack clamps are constructed in stainless steel, as is the rear rolling bar. The side rails and crossbars are made of aluminum and have protective rubber strips.
You’ll find lots of solutions to convert this Ford Courier in our vast Syncro catalogue, including creating a small, but efficient workshop with interior linings, a wide range of modular racking components (drawer and shelving units), interior lighting, accessories, loading ramps and so much more!
