Racking solutions for the Ford Custom
The Custom is a medium size van with simple and pleasant, if not exactly innovative lines, and with a sensibly shaped and generous cargo capacity for its compact dimensions.

A RACKING SOLUTION FOR THE LEFT SIDE OF THE CUSTOM
The van seen here is fitted with shelves and drawers on the left side only.
The Syncro team started work by fitting a robust marble-look liner to protect the original floor. Following the customer’s wishes, they then installed racking only on the left of the van. This begins at floor-level with two compartments, one with a door and the other with a strap for securing tool cases. Further up are a pull-out bench with a 110 mm vice and three case trays with six removable component cases. Above these are two large drawers with telescopic, ball-bearing runners, non-slip mats and internal space dividers. The system also includes three shelves with dividers, a shelf with four removable plastic containers and, at the very top, metal cabinets with fully removable, tilting transparent containers made from transparent material and incorporating an automatic latch and release button.
The Custom’s racking is complemented by some useful accessories: a first aid case, LED ceiling lights to illuminate the interior, and aluminium bars with sliding steel fittings and cargo lashing straps.
A CUSTOM WITH SHELVES AND TRANSPARENT CONTAINERS
These photos illustrate a Ford Custom racking system consisting of shelves with space dividers and pull-out trays for metal and plastic cases on the left. Of the two floor-level compartments, one is enclosed by a lift and rotate door and the other left open, with a shuttle-type case transport system fitted.
The right side of the van is equipped with a series of cabinets with tilting transparent containers, one of Syncro’s best-selling products.
The racking stands on a 12 mm thick marble-look plywood floor liner. This small mobile workshop is completed by a few useful accessories: a cable holder, a bar rack, and a rail with a strap and sliding attachments.
FLOOR AND BODYWORK LINERS FOR THE CUSTOM
To protect your Ford Custom, you can choose a 12 mm thick, resin-bonded plywood floor liner, cut to size and shape by accurate CNC machines and compete with special non-slip steel edges.
This type of liner is made from marine-grade plywood, assembled with non-hygroscopic, phenolic resin adhesive to ensure that it does not absorb liquid or humidity and remains fully functional for many years.
The surface of the liner is protected by hard-wearing marble-look resin or rubber.
Alternatively, you can fit a liner made from laser-cut, 2 + 1.8 mm thick aluminium tread plate.
Bodywork liners are available in galvanised and painted steel, aluminium or honeycomb plastic. All bodywork liner types are laser-shaped to match the contours of your van’s cargo compartment and to provide effective protection for its walls, rear and side doors.
In addition to floor and bodywork protection, you can also add plywood or aluminium liners for the bulkhead behind the cab, and wheel arch liners in steel and plywood or steel and aluminium.

ROOF RACKS AND LADDER RACKS
Syncro offers a full range of roof equipment for the Ford Custom too. Because the Syncro roof rack system is fully modular, it can be adapted to match all kinds of special needs and to carry ladders, pipes and other long objects, as well as cargo and equipment.
Syncro can fit your van with simple roof bars, with load stops if required, or roof racks complete with side fences and rear loading rollers. Both types can then be fitted with pivoting or damped-action ladder slides and tubular carriers for pipes, cable channels and other long objects. All types of roof rack are GS certified and come with Syncro’s exclusive ULTRASILENT profile for dramatically reduced noise and vibration when the van is moving.
A CUSTOM WITH AN ALUMINIUM LOADING RAMP
To enable you to load and unload tool trolleys, garden tractors, motorcycles, quads and other wheeled machines to and from your Custom, and to let you load cargo with a pallet truck, Syncro System offers a wide choice of ramps in aluminium or aluminium and steel. Load capacities range from 200 kg to 1,800 kg and sizes start from only 300 mm in width.

This neat, fold-away ramp comes complete with rotating mountings, so that it can be swung out to provide access to the van without having to extend it completely.
