The
Citroen Jumpy, like all commercial vans, doesn’t come with adequate interior protection, leaving it vulnerable to everyday wear and tear in the form denting and warping. So the first step for Syncro technicians is to install an extremely durable floor panel. For this conversion, we mounted a 12 mm resin-coated marine plywood
floor panel with steel borders and recessed anchorage points. The resin-coated surface is extremely durable and anti-slip. The wood floor panel not only creates a flat loading surface, but also a solid base for mounting the racking components.
The Jumpy’s interior has also been protected by installing
pre-coated galvanized panels on the side walls and doors. They are very robust, and laser-cut to guarantee a perfect fit.
The left-hand side racking solution consists of a
wheel arch frame – an open compartment with forward-tilting base board. Above that, we placed six steel drawer units – all with ball bearing slides, individual automatic locking mechanisms, rubber mats and aluminum dividers.
At the top of the
shelving unit, there are two forward-slanting shelves, also complete with rubber mats and metal dividers.
On the right-hand side, we mounted a second shelving unit with a wheel arch base frame, creating a useful storage compartment.
Next to the shelves, we mounted a
folding-down worktop / vise base, 125 mm forged steel vise with steel pipe jaws and rotating base. It’s a Syncro solution that allows even big jobs with heavy mechanical pieces and equipment to be carried out on site.
For safe transport of all kinds of materials and equipment, we fixed two
steel tracks to the left-hand side wall. The 4,000 kg straps can be positioned anywhere along the track. Three more adjustable clasps were placed along the bulkhead.
Bright lighting is assured by the compact, yet powerful
LED 10-Watt ceiling light. And finally, the indispensable first aid kit was mounted on the end panel of the left-side racking unit.
