A Maxus eDeliver 9 L3 H2 for a building firm

Syncro’s first racking system in the brand-new eDeliver 9 electric van from Maxus

The van illustrated on this page is a Deliver 9, an all-electric, medium-size model from the Chinese Maxus brand. Syncro System is always ready to design and install custom racking solutions in any make and model of van, even if newly launched on the market. The Maxus eDeliver 9 L3 H2 seen in these photos proves the point, being the first van of this type to come into a Syncro racking centre for transformation into a mobile workshop.

The building firm commissioning the project asked us to create a small work area and to provide plenty of storage for tools and small items while leaving enough space inside to carry goods and equipment safely. They also wanted a powerful source of electrical energy to drive power tools.

The Maxus eDeliver 9’s custom-made liners

Good liners are essential if you want to look after your van. By covering its interior surfaces you protect your vehicle against damage and avoid the need for an early trip to a bodywork repair shop, with all its associated costs and vehicle down time.

In this Maxus eDeliver 9, Syncro installed a plywood floor liner with a marble-look surface – a great way to create a robust and perfectly flat walkable surface while protecting the original floor against wear and damp.

For the walls and doors, the customer chose a material that is thinner but still unbeatable for strength: Syncro’s steel lining panels are able to resist even violent collisions, keeping the racking firmly fixed to the walls, minimising damage and reducing risk to other road users. On request, Syncro System can also supply and fit custom-made liners for the wheel arches, bulkhead and roof of the Maxus eDeliver 9.

Storage and work areas on the left of the Maxus eDeliver 9

Since the customer had asked Syncro System to keep as much space as possible free for cargo, all the racking was concentrated on just one of the eDeliver 9’s side walls. The left wall was selected for the absence of a side door.

Both the work area and the storage area were therefore installed on this side of the van.

  • The floor-level compartment over the wheel arch is partly enclosed at the bottom by a fixed panel to keep items inside when the van is travelling.
  • The floor-level compartment at the front of the van is equipped with a case transport kit complete with hooks and straps. These accessories can be used to carry Syncro’s own cases or those of other makes in total safety.
  • A total of nine shelves of different lengths have been provided to carry consumables, spare parts, and small and medium size tools.
  • A case tray with Syncro’s patented automatic latching and release mechanism satisfies the need to carry small items in an orderly manner.
  • A worktop with a metal drawer beneath it and an LED tube light overhead forms the van’s work area.
  • At the top, a full-length top tray permits the transport of long items like brushes, cable channels, posts, etc.

Ecoflow: total functionality and autonomy for the eDeliver 9

One plain shelf has been included in the racking on the eDeliver 9’s left wall to carry an Ecoflow power station. This unit incorporates a battery charger, a lithium battery and a pure sine wave inverter and can deliver DC power for electronic devices via USB sockets and 220V alternating current for power tools and other electrical devices. The Ecoflow unit is installed in a custom-made tray and held securely in place by a lashing strap with hooks. This advanced power source can be charged from solar panels, the mains electricity supply or even the van’s own alternator. It features a quick-charge system and a monitor that provides information on charge level and power output.

Cargo retaining and other accessories in the eDeliver 9

Syncro adopts various space-saving strategies: in this Maxus eDeliver 9 the installers chose to leave the right wall and bulkhead completely free apart from cargo lashing accessories.

Four lengths of Syncroblock bar have been installed, two on the side wall and two on the bulkhead, with both pairs arranged in parallel and equipped with sliding attachments and lashing straps.

The lashing straps can be adjusted in length to accommodate cargo of any size. And when no cargo is carried, these accessories occupy zero space!

The eDeliver 9’s left rear door has been turned into a dedicated cleaning area, with the addition of a handwash kit, a soap dispenser and and paper roll holder.

The rear-facing side panel of the left racking has been fitted with a spray can rack, a silicone cartridge rack and a versatile metal pocket.

The project is completed by the addition of two LED tube lights under the roof to ensure bright and uniform illumination even in poor light or with the van's doors closed.
