Why should I bother installing racking in my van? To give your business a boost!
Syncro System racking makes your vehicle far more useful to you: its cargo compartment can finally carry all the tools, accessories, spares and equipment you need. And that’s not all. Everything stays tidy and easy to find when you need it, and you no longer have to return home to get something you forgot.
Consider for a moment how this not only saves you time and money, but makes you look far more professional in the eyes of your customers!
The Opel Vivaro L3 H1 seen in the photos on this page is owned by a plumber and Syncro System was asked to fit the liners and racking needed for his purposes. The result is a simple but highly effective configuration!
The bright, clean appearance of this Vivaro’s interior is in no small part due to the liners fitted to the floor, bulkhead, walls and doors. The liners that cover the van’s original body panels serve two purposes: they protect the bodywork against dents, scratches and spillages and they provide robust anchorage for the racking and accessories.
The floor is protected by a plywood liner with a marble-look finish. The walkable surface created in this way is extremely strong, thanks also to a special laying technique that uses spacers at strategic points to distribute weight over the ridges and recesses in the original floor. To protect the plywood against damp and to guarantee an extended working life, Syncro floor liners come with stainless steel anchor ring cups and edge profiles. The same marble-look material was used to cover the bulkhead where the liner panels are specially shaped to follow the contours in the bodywork. For the van’s doors and side walls, the Syncro team used super-strong steel panels.
The design of this racking system for a plumber’s Vivaro is extremely linear. The configuration on the left side consists of two identical columns made up of:
Note how the depth of the shelving changes towards the top of the van. Syncro racking can follow the contours of your van’s body while keeping the front perfectly vertical with no steps or protrusions.
The racking on the right of this Vivaro L3 H1 consists of a floor-level compartment with hooks and lashing straps and two more configurable shelves to complement those on the left. In addition, however, Syncro has fitted the following elements:
As its name suggests, Syncro’s vice bench normally serves as a support for a metal vice, for use when minor adjustments and repairs have to be done in the van. It is really up to you to decide how to use all Syncro System products, however. There’s nothing to prevent you installing a bench on its own first, and perhaps adding more equipment later. This is exactly what happened in the case of this Vivaro: in response to the need for a small space-saving work bench, the customer and the Syncro team decided to fit a pull-out vice bench without a vice. This can be added at any time in the future, after all!
The plumber who owns this Vivaro opted to wait before installing accessories. That’s not a problem, though, because all Syncro System products, especially accessories, can be added after the racking system has been delivered. Very often, the customer can even do the job himself.
The plumber who owns this van made only one exception: he asked us to install an LED tube light along the centreline of the van where it could light the entire cargo compartment.
