The van seen on this page is an L3H3 version of the Man TGE that Syncro System prepared for a farm and forestry tyre service. The interior is thoroughly protected and features a cabinet of drawers for tools and small objects, a compressor-generator combo and a simple but effective set of cargo bars for dividing the van into separate sections. Let’s take a closer look.
If you work with materials or equipment that are not only bulky but often dirty and wet too, it’s a good idea to protect as much of your van’s interior as you can with tough, easy to clean liners.
In this MAN TGE the floor is protected by a plywood floor liner with a marble-look surface while the walls and doors are lined with custom-made panels of aluminium chequer plate. Even the wheel arches have been covered in, using aluminium chequer plate for the sides and raw steel sheet for the shaped covers.
Because the van’s walls and doors are lined in this way, accessories can easily be installed without having to drill the original bodywork, even at a later date.
The cargo compartment of this Man TGE has been divided into two different sections, one at the front and the other at the rear, using two cargo bars arranged across the centre of the vehicle. These aluminium bars have grooves and holes in both sides for securing tyres and other large items and making sure that nothing slides around when the van is moving. Cargo bars can be used with hooks and lashing straps to ensure maximum load safety.
You really need a powerful compressor to fit and inflate large tyres, and this Man TGE is equipped with a suitable compressor-generator combo. This is installed on the left side wall and connected to a cable reel and hose reel that can be used to supply compressed air and electrical power outside the van. At the top of the bulkhead is an inverter that provides a stabilised 230 V electrical supply.
Since the storage and workshop area of this Man TGE is located at the bulkhead where it is easily accessible from the side door, this same area has been chosen to install a set of drawers. Two cabinets have been placed one over the other, providing a total of five drawers of different sizes. The structure is enclosed in marble-look plywood and the top can even be used as a work surface.
Over the compressor are two wall-mounted shelves with non-slip mats and metal dividers for holding a variety of less frequently used items.
