Every job requires professionalism and competence and, of course, a functionally equipped van for working away from base.
Service engineers who work with industrial and railway motors need to be 100% efficient at all times, because their speedy intervention can make the difference between uninterrupted production and costly downtime.
What do service technicians need to work on complex systems?
This page illustrates a Man TGE L3 H3 fitted out by Syncro System to satisfy a customer’s needs, exploiting the full length and width of a generous van body and transforming the vehicle into a great mobile workshop.
Storage is provided on the two side walls. The containers on the left are larger and more suitable for bigger tools, while those on the right are smaller but more numerous and better suited to storing smaller items. The work area is located on the bulkhead. Let’s take a closer look!
Before we examine the racking in more detail, let’s take a look at the liners. This customer requested an almost complete set of liners – a small investment that over time can make a massive difference to the appearance and resale value of the vehicle.
The floor liner is made from resin-coated plywood, while the doors and walls are lined with painted steel panels. The material used to cover the floor is non-slip and oil and solvent resistant, indispensable characteristics whenever mechanical parts have to be handled. The only unprotected surface in this Man TGE is the bulkhead which, however, is partly covered by racking.
Want to learn how to optimise space? Take a look at the left of this Man TGE. The wall is divided into two parts, with the forward section left free and the rear section equipped with a full-height column of racking. A full-length top tray extends over both parts.
The racking consists of:
This storage area is ideal for power tools, gauges, ammeters, pressure gauges, pullers, torches and other commonly used tools and measuring instruments.
The racking on the right of the van is configured very differently. Apart from the floor-level compartment and the shelf immediately above it (both enclosed by Syncro’s patented lift-and-rotate doors), this column comprises three shelves carrying a total of 24 removable plastic containers and Multibox cabinets of 5 large and 10 smaller tilting transparent containers.
These containers represent a great way to carry filters, gaskets, belts, screws, fuses and all the hardware and spares needed for the job.
Now we come to the dedicated work area in this large van. The bulkhead is equipped with a generous workbench in marble-look plywood, supported by a racking column comprising:
