A Toyota Proace City for an irrigation company

A complete racking solution for an irrigation service in a Toyota Proace City L2 H1

Plumbing is one of the trades for which Syncro System provides a large number of van racking solutions. This page describes a solution for a special application in the plumbing sector: the installation and maintenance of lawn and garden irrigation systems. The plumbing company that owns this Toyota Proace City L2 H1 has a section dedicated to designing, installing and servicing irrigation systems, and has assigned this van to the technicians who work for it.

Though small, the van is perfectly well equipped to carry everything needed for the job: equipment, tools, hardware, spares and irrigation components. Let’s take a closer look!

The importance of interior liners for the Proace City

The installation of bodywork protection is an essential step in fitting out any van. As the saying goes, a good start is half the job.

The installation of robust floor, wall and door liners:

  • eliminates the need to drill the van’s bodywork to fix racking and accessories
  • creates a barrier that protects the original body panels against dents, scratches, humidity, perforation and rust
  • keeps the interior of the van in perfect condition, ensuring a higher resale value on trade-in

All makes and models of van benefit from interior liners. Installation is easy too, as all Syncro liners are specially pre-shaped and pre-drilled in advance at Syncro’s works in Italy. In the case of the Toyota Proace City seen in these photos, the floor is covered with a plywood floor liner with a marble-look surface complete with stainless-steel anchor ring cups and edge profiles to keep out humidity. In addition, the van’s owners also decided to protect the doors with custom-made steel panels. Syncro can supply and fit liners for all other interior surfaces too, including the walls, bulkhead and wheel arches.

Drawers and shelves on the left of the Proace City

The racking system in this Toyota Proace City L2 H1 combines simplicity with functionality. The left wall features two side-by-side columns, divided and supported by Syncro’s perforated side panels. The rearmost column consists of a floor-level compartment delimited by a front profile at the bottom and two large metal drawers with recessed handles, non-slip bottom mats and internal space dividers. The column towards the front of the van comprises a floor-level compartment with a hook and strap lashing system and two configurable shelves.

A third shelf at the very top spans both columns.

Everything in perfect order in the Proace City’s drawers

The right side of this irrigation service’s Proace City is almost entirely occupied by metal drawers. These robust containers incorporate an automatic latching system and are mounted on ball-bearing runners that allow them to open for their full length. Even material right at the back of the drawer can therefore be reached easily. The exclusively designed drawer fronts have recessed handles and no awkward protrusions that might injure users or become entangled and break. Under the six drawers is a floor-level compartment with a bottom profile at the front.

A practical open shelf has been added at the top of the racking.

How much difference do accessories really make?

A very big difference indeed. Any van user will tell you so, and you can see for yourself from the photos of this Proace City!

The bulkhead of this irrigation service’s Proace City has neither liners nor racking but, towards the bottom, is equipped with a section of Syncroblock bar with hooks and straps. This simple addition has turned the bulkhead into a useful anchorage point for whatever cargo needs to be carried on board. The lashing strap can be adjusted to secure items of any shape and size and the bar itself is one of the most versatile of Syncro products. A whole range of accessories can be fitted to this type of bar to meet different needs, and the job can be easily done by the end user!

The Syncro team also installed two high-power, high-efficiency, LED tube lights under the roof to illuminate the entire cargo compartment. This particular model of light is set at an angle of 45 degrees and is designed to be attached to the vertical sides of roof cross-members where it does not interfere with movement inside the van.

Syncro accessories can always be added at a later date too. The Syncro System catalogue includes a vast range of products for ventilation, cleaning, lighting and security.
