Racking in a fire prevention firm’s Vito

A quick look is enough to see that the depth of the racking is very different on the two sides. Liners for the Mercedes Vito
All vans should be lined before racking is installed, as we have always said. In this particular Mercedes Vito the floor is covered by a marble-look plywood liner while the bottom section of the walls and doors are protected by painted steel panels. The metal edges fitted at the doors serve two purposes: they protect the plywood liner against knocks and wear and also provide a non-slip surface for safe access.
The left of the Vito: drawers and shelves
The racking on the left of this fire prevention firm’s Vito is divided into two columns:
- Near the van’s rear doors, over the wheel arch, is a floor-level compartment with a lift-up door; over this are two metal drawers and a configurable shelf with a raised rear panel.
- The column of racking nearer the bulkhead consists of a strap-type case transport compartment and three configurable shelves with non-slip mats and internal space dividers.
- An open shelf runs across both columns and is fitted with adapters for carrying removable plastic containers.
The right of the Vito: ultra-compact storage
On the right of the Vito, we have a single, shallow column of racking that stands out very little from the side of the van. The column starts with a large compartment with a lift-up door. Further up, we have four rows of pull-out transparent containers totalling 16 in number, all configurable with internal partitions. At the top are another four transparent containers, this time much larger and with a tilting action.
