The racking solution presented here is installed in an Opel Movano L3 H2 operated by a company that services drilling rigs for quarrying, mining and construction. This large van is ideal for conversion into a mobile workshop and the task was completed by Syncro System exactly according to the requirements specified by the owners:
Let’s take a closer look!
Nothing has been left to chance in this Opel Movano, starting with the liners, which are crucial to keeping the van in tip-top condition for years to come, avoiding unnecessary repair costs and preventing a rapid loss in resale value as time goes by. The liners installed in this Movano are easy to keep clean and give the interior an attractive appearance thanks to a bright finish that helps illuminate the cargo compartment.
The floor is protected by a floor liner in aluminium tread plate while the bulkhead is covered in custom-made panels of marble-look plywood. Finally, the walls and doors are lined with panels of tough steel – a material that ensures maximum strength even in the event of a violent impact or sudden braking.
The customer specified that they needed to transport a large quantity of spare parts and hardware.
With this in mind, here is how Syncro laid out the cargo compartment.
The racking on the left consists of:
The racking on the right is virtually identical, except for the locker, but there are even more containers, since the main Multibox cabinet contains a total of 28 smaller pull-out containers and a second Multibox cabinet has been added at the top with 14 tilting and removable containers in place of the full-length top tray. In addition, the drawers on the right-hand side are all equipped with plastic trays that exponentially increase the number of items that can be kept separate.
Two other important features of this Movano for servicing drilling rigs can be seen on the rear-facing side panels: a practical electrical wiring system and a fold-away vice bench. These two important additions ensure full operability at the work site.
Syncro van lockers may look the same on the outside, but the interior is fully customisable. In the case of this Opel Movano, the bottom of the locker is equipped with a marble-look plywood base that supports an Ecoflow power station. Above this are two metal drawers and two open shelves with their flanges facing up. The locker even has its own source of electrical power: an internal multi-socket allows electronic devices and batteries for power tools to be recharged during storage.
Complementing the vice bench at the rear, a large marble-look plywood work bench has been installed at the van’s bulkhead. The work surface itself rests on an aluminium frame that houses a powerful compressor-generator combo, installed snugly against the bulkhead. A tank in the inside corner provides an effective reserve of compressed air for pneumatic tools. A third multi-socket serves the needs of this work bench.
The mobile workshop in this Opel Movano L3 H2 is complemented by a number of essential accessories.
A cleaning area: the left rear door is fitted with a large paper roll holder, a handwash kit with a water tank and tap and a soap dispenser. All these items are supported by dedicated holders attached to the liner panels.
Cargo retaining systems: the Syncro System catalogue offers a wide range of cargo retaining accessories in the form of hooks and straps and holders for more or less specific purposes. These items ensure orderly storage inside the van and guarantee the safety of the van’s occupants and other road users. This Movano is fitted with two multi-purpose metal pockets, a spray can rack, and a section of slider bar arranged vertically to mount the reels.
Lighting: a well-equipped mobile workshop requires proper interior lighting. The Syncro team installed four energy-saving LED tube lights on the roof cross-members to provide bright, uniform light throughout the van.
