A Proace City for a veterinary practice

The watchword: mobility!

The racking system presented here is quite unusual. It is installed in a Toyota Proace L1 H1 owned by a vet who specialises in buiatrics – diseases in cattle. The vehicle is used mainly for scheduled visits to dairy herds in cowsheds.

The primary requirement expressed by the vet was to be able to work on the move with the same degree of professionalism as he could at his surgery.

How could we achieve this? By providing:

  • enough space to carry essential veterinary equipment like first aid kits, portable ultrasound machines, aspirators, medication scales, intravenous administration devices, a portable refrigerator and lights
  • containers and retaining accessories for consumables and other cargo.

The set-up proposed by Syncro System following consultation with the customer is quite simple and straightforward but nevertheless perfectly matches the criteria of functionality, order and instant access he specified.

That installed in the Proace City seen on this page is a good example of the special van racking solutions that Syncro can design, not so much for its complexity or for the quantity of racking installed, but rather for the unusual profession of the customer.

The vet asked for our help to serve local cattle farmers and to complete his visits professionally, rapidly and efficiently, even in the countryside many miles away from his clinic.

The van is equipped with racking on both sides, leaving plenty of free space in the middle of the floor for easy access to all the storage.

Protection is important, so always line your van

The thin sheet metal from which van bodies are made is simply not able to withstand a lifetime of mechanical stress, accidental impacts and humidity. Bodywork must therefore be covered as soon as possible, preferably before setting out on the road!

The owner of this Toyota Proace City came to Syncro with floor and wall liners already installed by another supplier. But remember that Syncro provides a FULL SERVICE. We offer a wide range of lining solutions and 30 years of expertise in all areas of van equipment, from liners to racking, accessories and even external components.

Since this particular Toyota Proace City is going to be used by a veterinary service, we would have recommended a floor liner and bulkhead liner made from aluminium tread plate and galvanised and painted steel panels for the doors and walls. Our catalogue nevertheless also contains floor liners in marble-look and rubber-coated plywood, super-strong two-layer floor liners and various options for the doors, walls, wheel arches and even the roof!

The left of the Proace City

The Proace City is a small van. The L1 H1 model in particular is the most compact in its category. This choice of model is quite understandable, as the vet often finds himself on narrow and uneven country roads, with conditions worsening in bad weather. So it’s far better to drive an agile vehicle in order to be as autonomous as possible and not get stuck in difficult situations!

But limited space inside does not have to mean poor organisation. On the contrary… On the left of this Proace City L1 H1, Syncro has created two floor-level compartments, including one with a patented lift-and-rotate door. There are also four large metal drawers with non-slip mats at the bottom and vertical space dividers. The configuration on this side is completed by a top shelf.

Have you heard how easy it is to combine Syncro racking components? Every Syncro racking system is specially built to match the model of van concerned. The number and type of racking elements are dictated only by the size and design of the vehicle. Our entire range of racking and accessories can be installed in any type of van, according to customer requirements.

On the right of this Proace City L1 H1, the large floor-level compartment over the wheel arch is equipped with a hook and strap lashing system to provide safe storage for even bulky equipment. Three configurable shelves above make the most of the vertical space available.

A paper roll holder is installed on the side panel near the sliding door – a minimum requirement for cleaning hands and equipment on the move and a favourite with Syncro customers!

An LED tube light is installed directly over the side door to improve visibility and access to the van.

Want more? You can add whatever you want at any time

The racking system in this vet’s Proace City L1 H1 is a perfect example of a simple configuration, but remember... you can add to your racking system at any time.

For example, you can add accessories for securing cargo, cleaning, lighting, security, or ventilation... or you can install additional components such as drawers, case trays, lockers, and vice benches.

And don’t forget that your Proace City can even be equipped with a roof rack, pipe carrier and ladder slide.
