A special solution for small hatchbacks
Syncro System fits out small, medium and large vans, and even trailers. On this page we can see two examples of a special solution created for a municipal police force and installed in two compact hatchbacks: a Fiat Panda and a Jeep. The requirements were identical for both vehicles: a drawer and a worktop had to be installed in the back, leaving most of the boot free.
A special solution for the municipal police
The municipal police force that requested the racking solution seen on this page needed to equip the rear of two vehicles to use speed measuring equipment, record the driver and vehicle details taken at check points, and store all the documents needed for these operations in an orderly manner. The technical staff at the local Syncro System dealership came up with two almost identical solutions for both vehicles (a Panda and a Jeep). The only difference lies in the dimensions and the accessory equipment.
A custom solution for a municipal police force, with a drawer and a plywood worktop
To satisfy the customer’s request, the Syncro team designed and installed a special racking solution consisting of:
- a marble-look plywood worktop installed in the boot area, in line with the top of the rear seats
- a metal drawer located under the worktop and fitted with a writing board with hinges fixed to the rear of the drawer. When closed, this board forms an additional, stable and robust writing surface for the police officers to use. When open, it provides easy access to the contents of the drawer.
Underneath the worktop, drawer and writing board, there is still plenty of room in the boot for luggage and equipment.
Minor differences between the equipment of the Panda and the Jeep
These two hatchbacks are slightly different in size and this necessitated certain variations in the racking. The drawer and the worktop are larger in the Jeep than in the Panda. In addition, the Jeep’s worktop is fitted with raised edges at the rear and sides to prevent objects accidentally falling off.
