First of all: protection for the Custom’s floor
Given the intended use of this van and the sort of loads it is destined to carry, the interior was first fully protected by the application of a 4 mm thick coating of washable ABS. Once this coating had been applied, the specialist installers of the Syncro System dealer fitted the Custom with a protective floor liner. The Syncro catalogue offers a wide choice of liners, but in this case the customer opted for the material that is easiest to wash down. The van is fitted with a floor liner in aluminium tread plate, with protective edges at the doors made from the same material.
The Syncro coffin slide
A special slide for the safe transport of coffins is installed over the floor liner. This coffin slide is made from steel and aluminium and consists of a frame fixed to the floor, an extendable slide and, at the rear, a roller for easy loading and unloading. The design even includes a space for transporting the wooden board used to move the coffin on to a folding trolley. A locking mechanism at the rear and a mechanical stop at the front keep the coffin in place and stop it sliding forwards on to the bulkhead or backwards into the rear doors.
Cargo retaining systems for vans
At mid-height along the side walls and the bulkhead of this undertakers’ Ford Custom are a series of bars for sliding attachments. This type of bar is one of the most versatile accessories in the Syncro catalogue as it can be used with a wide range of different components to secure cargo, equipment and tools of all types and sizes.
