The van you can see on this page is a medium size vehicle belonging to a company that carries out the scheduled servicing of fire extinguishers for factories and public and private offices. To complete all the necessary work, the owners asked Syncro System to design and install a fully customised work area at the van’s bulkhead, where it is easily accessible from the side door.
Most of the van is equipped in a “normal” manner with open and closed compartments, shelves and drawers, but the racking and equipment in bulkhead area has been specially made for the customer. It’s worth mentioning the quality of the bodywork liners the customer selected. The floor is protected by a plywood liner with a special rubber coating that offers amazing grip and ensures the safest possible conditions for the van’s users, for working and moving around. The van’s walls are protected by Syncro’s painted steel panels while the bulkhead is covered with pre-shaped and pre-drilled liners made from plywood with a marble-look finish.
The work station, which comprises a bench, a vice and special accessories, is located at the van’s side door where the van user can access it without having to climb on board. The bench is supported by two Syncro Ultra side panels with equidistant holes. The work top itself is made from marble-look plywood. The bench is equipped with a metal vice and a special clamp for unscrewing and tightening the valves of portable powder-type fire extinguishers.
Attached to the bulkhead, perpendicular to the work bench, the Syncro team has placed a shelving unit consisting of four “special” shelves and one standard top shelf. The special shelves are made from high-strength steel and are installed with the front higher than the back, so that they slope inwards. A horizontal bar carrying a vertical pusher with locking knob and rubber profile is fitted underneath each of the shelves. This system, aided by the slope of the shelves, allows even heavy fire extinguishers to be carried in total safety, with no risk of them sliding around or falling off. Another clever idea is found between the side of the steel shelves and the van’s left wall: a custom-made shelf, again in marble-look plywood, has been added to divide the space vertically and turn it into practical storage.
The following accessories complement the work area of this van with a special Syncro solution for servicing fire extinguishers:
