A Volkswagen Transporter for a door and window fitter

A Transporter turned into a mobile workshop for installing doors and windows

This racking system by Syncro System is installed in a Volkswagen Transporter owned by a door and window fitter. The system is designed to satisfy the customer’s needs, so the racking and accessories were chosen on the basis of the requirements given at the consultation stage. In particular, this customer needs:

  • to carry doors and windows safely
  • a range of open and closed storage elements for tools and equipment

Custom liners for the Transporter, from Syncro

You really must protect your van’s walls and floor against impact damage, especially if you carry large, heavy objects like doors and windows. In this fitter’s Transporter, the floor is protected by a plywood floor liner with a marble-look surface while the top sections of the walls and doors are lined with protective panels in painted steel.

Racking customised to meet your needs

In this Transporter, all the racking is fixed to the left side wall, occupying it fully in height and length. The system consists of two floor-level compartments, partly enclosed by fully opening doors at the bottom, three drawers with space dividers and non-slip mats and five similarly equipped shelves. The top level is occupied by pull-out transparent containers. The storage is complemented by two extremely popular Syncro accessories, fixed to the side panel at the rear doors: a cable holder and a paper roll holder.

Cargo bars: essential for carrying doors and windows

Door and window fitters know all about the problems of carrying these heavy, fragile and often very expensive items around. Cargo bars are the easiest and most effective way to transport doors and windows in your van without damaging them or the van’s bodywork. Cargo bars can be fitted vertically or horizontally to:

  • divide up the load compartment into separate sections
  • stop the doors and windows sliding around and striking the van’s walls or racking during transport, causing needless damage to equipment and materials
  • let you concentrate on your driving without worrying about the load

This particular Transporter is fitted with four cargo bars, positioned vertically and secured by milled rails, two of which are fixed to the van’s roof and two to the floor. The narrow sides of the bars are rubber coated to avoid scratching whatever material rests against them.
