The Fiat Scudo 2020 L2 H1 seen in these photos is owned by a company that installs and services water dispensers in factories, offices, bars and restaurants. The racking in the back of the van therefore had to make a rational use of space and permit the easy transport not only of tools, spares and sundries but of large and small water dispensers too.

A complete set of liners for the Scudo… with reinforcement too
Along with the proposed racking system for this Scudo L2 H1, the Syncro team also recommended a more or less complete set of interior liners to protect the bodywork. Liners greatly extend the life of a van’s original body panels. Syncro liners are custom-made to provide total protection against dents and scratches and to avoid the harmful effects of damp and accidental spillages of liquids.
The floor of this Fiat Scudo is covered by a floor liner with a marble-look surface and Syncro’s exclusive anchor ring cups and edge profiles for preventing water infiltration at the doors. In addition, the area of floor near the bulkhead is reinforced by a steel sheet for added strength in view of the frequent use of this area for carrying heavy loads. The same plywood material is used to protect the entire bulkhead too. Note how Syncro lining panels are custom-shaped to follow the contours of the van’s bodywork. The walls and doors of the van are protected by tough steel panels.
A custom racking configuration on the left of the Scudo
The entire left side of this Scudo for a water dispenser service has been equipped with racking. The configuration consists of various types of storage element.
- Four large tilting PMMA containers are provided at floor level. The perfect transparency of this material lets users identify contents immediately and ensures that supplies never run out.
- Three metal drawers and seven case trays occupy the central section of the racking. All these elements open for their full length and are equipped with Syncro’s unique automatic latching mechanism.
- A specially formed shelf at the top carries four large, removable containers in blue plastic.
- Then there are three shelves. Of these, two are configurable with non-slip mats and space dividers while the one at the top is a plain shelf with a lift-and-rotate door.
- The floor-level compartment near the bulkhead is fitted with a sealed tray for carrying cans of liquid. In the event of an accidental spillage, this tray can be removed easily for emptying and cleaning.
A large shelf on the right of the Scudo
The right side of the van is also equipped with Multibox transparent containers at floor level. The exclusive design of these products means that they are easy to open and close even in this position! Nearly all the remaining space on this side is occupied by a shelf for transporting water dispensers. The supporting surface is reinforced by a plywood panel and a section of rail fixed to the wall provides secure attachment points for hooks and straps. The racking on this side is completed by a full-length top tray.
Cargo bars: safer transport for large and heavy equipment
When heavy or fragile cargo has to be transported, Syncro System often recommends the use of cargo bars.
This Fiat Scudo for a water dispenser business is fitted with a cargo bar that can be positioned horizontally between lengths of milled rail on the front of both racking columns. The bar can be moved to any position along these rails to divide the cargo compartment into areas of different size. The outside edge of the bar is rubber-coated to avoid scratching whatever material it supports.
The Fiat Scudo’s accessories
In addition to the cargo bar, this Scudo is equipped with a number of accessories to maximise the efficiency of the van’s users and to enable them to express their professionalism to the full. The most notable of these is a large fold-away vice bench on the rear-facing side panel of the left racking.
This patented product is exclusive to Syncro and features a telescopic support that extends and closes automatically. The bench is extremely easy to operate and comes with its own metal vice. Once in position, it provides a generous and robust work surface.
The bulkhead is fitted with two sections of heavy-duty rail for use with lashing straps. Combined with the reinforced floor, these allow water dispensers and refills to be carried in total safety.
