Most of the vans that Syncro System is asked to transform are owned by tradesmen working in the fields of building systems and finishing. If you browse through our gallery of racking solutions, however, you can also find many van transformations completed on behalf of large companies, utility services, hobbyists and professionals of all kinds.
The Ford Transit 2014 L2 H2 seen on this page is a quite unusual case. It is owned by a vet who asked Syncro to fit it out as a clinic on wheels for visits to farms and for animal recovery.
Just like any other vehicle that passes through a Syncro System workshop, the Transit seen here has been fitted with robust bodywork protection. The floor liner is in plywood with a marble-look surface while the doors and walls are covered in super-tough steel panelling. Syncro System came up with a special configuration for the equipment in this Transit L2 H2. The aim was to create a clear separation between the racking that had to be accessible from outside the van and the internal area intended for use as a mobile office. The result was two distinct areas: one “dirty” and one “clean”. In practice all the equipment and medication can be accessed from the ground outside the van without having to enter the office, which is located behind the cab.
The largest section of racking is positioned where it is accessible only from the back of the van. It consists of two columns containing a total of twelve metal drawers, each equipped with Syncro’s patented opening and closing mechanism, a non-slip bottom mat and inter dividers. At the very top is a shelf enclosed by a lift-up door. The entire configuration is fixed to the side walls by a horizontal bar attached to the back of the column at the top.
In addition to the materials needed for emergency surgery and small operations on animals, the vet also needs to carry medical supplies that must be stored at a controlled temperature inside a fridge.
In response to the requirement to access medicines without having to climb into van, the fridge was positioned at the van’s side door with its own door facing out. For safety’s sake, the fridge is held in place by a hook and strap lashing system. Power is provided by an Ecoflow power station.
Access to the interior of the vet’s Ford Transit is only possible through the side door. On entering we find:
