A Ford Transit for interior decorators
This page illustrates a Ford Transit L3H2 that Syncro System fitted out for a firm of interior decorators that specialises in paint, paper, fabric and ceramic coverings. The van needs plenty of room for carrying buckets of paint and rolls of wallpaper. Let’s take a look at the solution we devised for this customer.
A complete lining system for the Ford Transit
As with any van in which racking is to be installed, the first step we took was to protect the floor, walls and doors with robust liners. This Ford Transit is fitted with a plywood floor liner with a marble-look surface and painted steel panels over the walls, side door and the upper sections of the rear doors. Syncro supplies liners in a range of materials and customers are free to choose the type they want on the basis of their needs and preferences. The Syncro team is always ready to advise, however. For example, if you want to use your van to carry particularly heavy loads that might damage the floor, our technicians will probably recommend a super-tough combination liner made from a plywood bottom layer and a top layer in aluminium tread plate.
The racking on the left of the Transit
The racking in this Ford Transit is concentrated on the left wall and consists of:
- two floor-level compartments, one fully enclosed by a lift-up door and the other only partly enclosed by a lift-and-rotate door
- two deep metal drawers with non-slip mats and internal dividers
- a number of configurable shelves, also with mats and dividers
- a full-length top tray for long items, with a fold-down door at the rear of the van
Cargo lashing accessories on the right of the van
The right side of the van has been left completely free of racking, but functionality is ensured by the addition of a simple but versatile cargo lashing accessory. A bar with sliding rings and fittings is installed towards the bottom of the wall for use with lashing straps and loads of all shapes and sizes. This type of bar is extremely versatile and can be equipped with a range of accessories: heavy-duty straps, movable and adjustable hooks, magnets, etc.
Accessories for the Transit: cargo security and cleanliness at all times
The van’s bulkhead is fitted with a second bar with sliding fittings, this time at the top of the wall and equipped with cable holders. The van’s functionality is enhanced by other accessories too. A handwash kit with water tank and tap and a liquid soap dispenser are found on one of the rear doors. The rearward facing side panel of the racking is fitted with a paper roll holder and a first aid kit. Inside the van, LED lights on the roof illuminate the interior evenly under all outdoor lighting conditions.
