2014 Ford Transit mobile workshop conversion solution
Conversion solution for the Ford Transit with shelving, drawer units and accessories
COMPLETE CARGO TRANSFORMATION ON THE 2014 FORD TRANSIT
The Ford Transit is a light commercial vehicle with plenty of cargo space. It's been around long enough (since 1953) to be historical. In the last, more than 60 years, it's gone through six generations and has produced more than five million Transits worldwide. The current model has been in production since 2014 and has remained faithful to its sought-after features while continuing to improve on comfort and practicality. It is available in a variety of configurations, including body lengths, wheelbases, roof heights, engine variations, and front or rear-wheel drive. It is appreciated by tradesmen, craftsmen and those who want to transform it into a workshop on wheels.
On this page, we see an Transit conversion solution with racking components on both sides of the cargo area, including left-hand side shelving, work space, vise base with swiveling vise and accessories. On the left-hand side, we installed a wheel arch base frame with forward-tilting base frame - creating valuable storage space around the wheel well. The frame just above it has been equipped with a closing front panel with our rotational hinge system. The compartment closer to the bulkhead has been equipped with the safe case storage system, including automatic locking shuttle for fast storage of tool and organizer cases of all sizes.
Moving up along the racking unit, we find two large steel drawers with telescoping ball-bearing guides, individual automatic locking system, rubber mats, and internal dividers. Next, we see six shelves also complete with rubber mats and dividers, for a total of eight meters of shelving. The very top of the racking unit is extra long with closing end flap – ideal for storing and transporting elongated objects like tubes and rods.
Moving the right-hand side, we find another wheel arch base frame with closing front panel. Over it, we mounted a metal drawer unit with six drawers and a locker with aluminum door, including internal shelf and locking door. Above the locker and drawer units, the Syncro team mounted a worktop in 12 mm special plywood – extremely durable and lightweight. It's made ofresin-coated non-oil reactive surface and is complete with raised sides for keeping tools and materials in order. We also mounted a convenient tool rack with hooks.
A MINI WORKSHOP ON WHEELS FOR THE 2014 TRANSIT
At the top, on the right-hand side, we see one of the crown jewels of the Syncro modular racking system ....a double metal drawer unit with 10 clear plastic drawers. The clear plastic makes it fast and easy to see the drawers' contents without open them and each drawer unit is equipped with an automatic locking mechanism. For added functionality of the mobile workshop, we added a few super practical accessories. On the right, we find the pull-down worktop / vise base with automatic blocking both in the open and closed positions. It is equipped with a 125 mm forged steel vise with steel pipe jaws and rotating base. On the left side, we mounted the 280 mm paper towel roll holder, and below it, our track and strap system that can quickly secure up to 4000 kg of cargo. To ensure the van is safe from theft, the Syncro team mounted the UFO lock to both the rear and side doors.
