This page illustrates a mobile workshop installed in an Iveco Daily L3 H2 for a company that specialises in waste treatment systems.
No ifs or buts ... you need to line the interior of your van before installing racking. Your van’s bodywork is made of thin sheet metal and, without liners, is constantly exposed to damage. The harmful action of damp makes things even worse. Whenever it finds a crack in the paintwork caused by dents or scratches, humidity attacks the metal beneath and leads to the formation of rust.
Syncro workshops offer a way to effectively STOP bodywork damage. We always recommend fitting at least the bare minimum of liners before any racking is installed. This Daily for servicing waste treatment systems has been given an almost full set of liners, with ease of cleaning prioritised. The floor liner is made of aluminium tread plate as is the step cover. The bulkhead is protected by panels of marble-look plywood arranged to follow the contours of the van. The walls and doors are covered with panels of honeycomb polypropylene. This material consists of two outer layers joined by an inner core that forms honeycomb spaces inside. This advanced structure improves thermal insulation, reduces weight and resists compression and bending.
To ensure that the cargo compartment can be used in the most rational way possible, racking always needs to be designed in close collaboration with the customer and on the basis of his daily working needs and habits.
The owner of this Iveco Daily for servicing waste treatment systems expressed the following needs, and Syncro came up with the following solutions:
Let’s take a closer look.
The “warehouse” area comprises a range of storage solutions chosen to house objects of different types, such as the spare parts and tools needed for work. The configuration includes:
Now we come to the van’s workshop area, every aspect of which is designed to meet the working needs of the customer.
Half-height racking supports a long workbench in marble-look plywood, complete with a raised edge at the back to stop tools and parts falling down behind.
The bench is served by four metal case trays, five drawers and two floor-level compartments like those on the opposite wall. The whole area is well lit and equipped with electrical power outlets.
A fold-away vice bench with integrated support provides an additional work surface accessible from the ground outside the van.
Space for carrying bulky cargo is provided in the unfurnished section of the left wall and across the bulkhead. In practice, this area of floor has been left free and cargo retaining accessories added to the walls.
Two lengths of Syncroblock bar run the full width of the bulkhead and a third extends along the adjacent wall.
The top bar is equipped with four telescopic hooks while the others remain free for use with hooks and straps or other specific accessories as needed.
Anything you cannot do with racking can usually be done by adding a dedicated accessory!
This Iveco Daily is equipped with the following:
Interior lighting is provided by four LED tube lights fixed at 45° to the sides of the roof cross-members. The workbench is illuminated by a tube light on the wall and a powerful LED spotlight over the rear doors lights the ground outside.
Autonomous operation of electrical and pneumatic equipment and tools is guaranteed by a dedicated van wiring system, an electrical panel with power outlets and reels for electrical cable and compressed air hose.
A bar rack with plastic hooks and a paper roll holder are fixed to the rear-facing side panel of the left-hand racking.
Speed and efficiency can make the difference between success and failure. To achieve your professional goals when working on the move, a properly equipped van is not an optional but a necessity!
