On this page we talk about an Iveco Daily L3 H2, one of the most spacious vans on today’s market, with a large, square-shaped cargo compartment that is ideal for transformation into a mobile workshop. And this is exactly what Syncro was asked to do by the customer, who services and repairs hydraulic and mechanical systems in industrial plants. The customer asked us for a well-equipped van that is quick and easy to clean at the end of the day, has enough room for a work area, and has an autonomous supply of electrical power.
The Syncro System team transformed this van precisely to meet these needs, installing racking on both sides and a work area with generator on the bulkhead. Let’s take a closer look.
As always, the team began by installing interior liners. Especially in the case of this van, these are essential to avoid damage during loading and unloading operations. They also serve to protect the original floor and bodywork against spillages of water and other liquids.
The Daily’s floor is covered by an aluminium tread plate floor liner while the doors are lined with robust steel panels. The bulkhead has been protected by a set of marble-look plywood panels that are shaped and arranged to follow the contours of the body right up to the roof, where a cab roof storage unit has been installed. This practical accessory is made from high-strength steel and has a lockable door with a dual latch system that turns an otherwise unusable space into a secure compartment.
Every aspect of this Iveco Daily transformation was conceived and implemented by Syncro with the objective of adapting the interior of the van to the needs of the customer. The project is therefore fully customised and designed with functionality in mind.
Here are the main elements of the racking on both sides of the van:
The side panel of the right-side racking is equipped with a fold-away vice bench with a built-in support. This type of bench is easy to release thanks to a lever at the front and extends in only a few seconds, along with its bottom support, before locking into extended position. This patented product is exclusive to Syncro and is designed to form a stable and stress-resistant work surface for a vice.
No real mobile workshop can do without an on-board work surface. This Daily is equipped with a marble-look plywood bench at the bulkhead, mounted on an aluminium frame that also provides support for other equipment and houses a slide carrying a generator.
The Syncro team also added a lightweight but robust folding plastic table with metal legs that the customer can use as a computer workstation.
When the van is travelling, the table is secured to the bulkhead over the work bench by means of a strap.
The Syncro racking solution for this Iveco Daily has been enriched by a number of important accessories and services.
Last but not least in this well-equipped Daily, a portable oilless compressor has been installed in the space formed between the bulkhead and the left-side racking.
