A Peugeot Boxer L2 H2 transformed into a mobile workshop for earth moving machinery

A complete set of liners for the Peugeot Boxer
The first step in this transformation, and one that Syncro technicians always recommend, was the installation of interior bodywork protection.
A good start ensures a good finish. The liners fitted to this van provide effective support for the racking and accessories and will certainly extend the vehicle’s life by protecting its walls, doors and floor against scratches and rust.
This Peugeot Boxer has been fitted with a plywood floor liner with a marble-look surface that forms a perfectly flat surface and resists wear and heavy loads. Steel edge profiles at the van’s doors and steel cups for the original anchor rings provide effective protection against water infiltration. The bulkhead is also protected by marble-look plywood panels, arranged to follow the contours of the bodywork.
The van’s side walls and doors are lined with super-strong steel panels to protect the bodywork in the event of a collision or sudden manoeuvres.

The Boxer’s workshop area
In this Boxer for servicing earth moving machinery, all the vertical surfaces are equipped with racking to serve different purposes. The left wall combines a work bench with abundant storage space and features:
- a large marble-look plywood work bench with a rotating vice
- eight metal drawers and two metal case trays for tools, spares and small items, arranged conveniently near the work bench
- two floor-level compartments, both equipped with lift-up doors to turn them into large, secure storage spaces
- three shelves with non-slip mats and internal dividers for carrying consumables where they are readily accessible from the work bench
- a locker with a lockable door installed near the bulkhead for storing work clothes and shoes or for keeping electronic devices and valuable instruments hidden from prying eyes
- a specially made shelf for removable plastic containers, located at the very top of the racking to make full use of the van’s height
Stainless-steel tanks on the right of the Boxer
The right of this Peugeot Boxer is dedicated entirely to storage. Its most striking features are two large stainless-steel tanks. These items, which were removed from an old van, have been integrated perfectly into a configuration of drawers above the enclosed floor-level compartment. The tanks are divided into two sections, one of 30 and the other of 40 litres, both with level indicator tubes and taps at the bottom. Also included in the right-side racking are seven drawers and three configurable shelves.
The bulkhead: readily accessible and easy to use
In vans with a sliding side door, the area near the cab bulkhead can be accessed easily from outside the vehicle. This important fact needs to be taken into consideration when designing a racking system.
For the bulkhead of this Boxer, the Syncro team created a second work bench supported by a strong metal profile structure. A compressor-generator slide has been installed underneath. Like the tanks, this slide was recovered from the customer’s old van. The slide is released by pressing a button on the handle. The equipment on it can then be pulled out for use outside the van without having to load and unload it every time.
Maximum functionality from the Boxer’s accessories
The functionality of this Peugeot Boxer is optimised by the following accessories:
- cleaning accessories: a handwash kit with water container and tap, a liquid soap dispenser and a paper roll holder
- cargo retaining accessories: a fire extinguisher bracket, cable holder, and a rail for use with hooks and lashing straps
- lighting accessories: under-roof LED tube lights
- security accessories: a security lock on the rear doors
