Van transformations can vary dramatically depending on needs. Some van users require lots of free floor space for carrying bulky equipment and materials while others want to transport large quantities of spare parts, tools, hardware and accessories, and perhaps also need a work area for minor repairs. In between these two extremes are an infinite range of compromises and the van seen in these photos is a fine example.
The vehicle is a Renault Master L3 H2 owned by a company that installs and services fire prevention systems. The interior is well protected and the racking as such is limited to a small section of the left side wall. Also present are various cargo retaining systems and accessories. So let’s take a closer look at this Syncro System custom solution.

We never stop saying it, and it applies to all makes and models of van, whether used for work or leisure... Before you think of installing any racking, you need to protect your van’s bodywork against dents, scratches and damp!
Proper liners become even more important if you intend to leave the walls mainly free from racking, as is the case with this Master. If they are not protected by racking, your van’s side walls are even more at risk of damage from everyday loading and unloading operations! This particular van is protected by a marble-look plywood floor liner that offers excellent impact resistance and good grip for users. Syncro's exclusive floor liner installation technique adds stainless-steel profiles at all exposed edges to keep out the damp and dirt that would otherwise penetrate the layers of plywood. The van’s walls and doors are lined with pre-shaped and pre-drilled panels made from super-tough steel.

The only racking in this Master L3 H2 for servicing fire prevention systems is installed on the left side wall towards the bulkhead. It occupies very little space in depth, width and height but still provides enough storage for small consumables, tools, spares and hardware. The column consists of a floor-level compartment with a lift-up door, three metal drawers with non-slip bottom mats and internal space dividers, two shelves including one at the top, and two rows of pull-out containers in transparent plastic.
Transparent containers are particularly useful when you need to find items quickly. You can see exactly what’s inside without opening them and you never risk running out of essential supplies because empty containers are easy to spot! The material from which these containers are made – PMMA – resists impact and sunlight, so it never yellows, cracks or breaks. In fact, it’s so tough that it is used to make airliner windows.
The remainder of the left wall, to either side of the racking, along with the bottom section of the right wall, is equipped with sections of Syncroblock slider bar. These metal bars have milled channels in the middle. They can be installed at any height and combined with a vast range of compatible Syncro accessories.
In this case, the bars are equipped with hooks and straps, a quick but safe and effective way to lash in place cargo of any shape and size, such as fire extinguishers, tanks and other fire prevention equipment, as required by road safety legislation. These accessories are called “slider bars” because accessories can be slid to any position along the full length of the bar then fixed wherever needed.

An example of the versatility of Syncroblock slider bar can be seen on the right wall: a section of bar has been used to secure a 220V portable oilless compressor. The compressed air produced by this machine is distributed through the hose reel at the top of the wall. Compressed air can therefore be supplied even to equipment located at a certain distance from the van. The hose reel incorporates a practical and fast-acting automatic rewinding mechanism, greatly facilitating the work of the service technician.
A fold-away vice bench is located near the van’s sliding side door. When the central body is pushed downwards, the bench folds down into horizontal position to form a practical and robust work surface.
