A few days ago it was a simple van… now it’s a great mobile workshop. This “magic” can happen very quickly, but it requires clear ideas, planning, expert input, and top-quality products. Luckily, you get all this from Syncro System!
This page illustrates a Mercedes Sprinter L2 H2 that Syncro’s racking experts fitted out for a company that services and repairs industrial floor cleaning machines.
The arrangement of the racking reflects a careful analysis of the shape and dimensions of the load space. The racking on the left of the van, for example, is so compact that it does not protrude further than the ramp pivot mounting. The racking on the right has a larger footprint but, like that on the left, gets gradually shallower towards the top, following the contours of the van’s bodywork. This leaves the floor space slightly offset towards the left, offering unrestricted access to cleaning machines for loading and unloading. The bulkhead has been fitted out as a work area.
Let’s take a closer look.
Syncro’s experts always pay the greatest attention to liners as an essential part of any racking solution. Protecting the interior of your van is crucial if you are going to use it to transport bulky equipment or to carry out repairs on board. The risk of damage to the bodywork caused by falling objects is greatly increased by such uses.
The floor of this Sprinter L2 H2 has been covered with a plywood floor liner with a marble-look surface. A strip of aluminium tread plate has been installed at the base of the access ramp and a protective steel profile added at the side door. The bulkhead is protected by panels of aluminium chequer plate while the doors are lined with steel panelling.
A special feature of this van’s lining system is the way in which the floor liner has been grooved to accommodate two parallel sections of SyncroRail. These rails are ideal for attaching the lashing straps needed to hold floor cleaning machines securely in place.
As already mentioned, the racking on the left of this Sprinter has been chosen for its space-saving footprint. The elements also decrease in depth as they go up, following the contours of the van’s body while keeping the fronts aligned vertically.
Starting from the bottom, we have:
The racking on the right consists of a floor-level compartment with a patented lift-and-rotate door that opens to provide unrestricted access, six drawers with bottom mats, a large shelf with a top-pivot door and four configurable shelves.
It’s not hard to find space for a workbench in a large van. The owners of this Sprinter decided to locate the work area at the bulkhead to reconcile the ability to carry out small jobs inside the van with the need to carry bulky machinery.
A robust workbench in marble-look plywood has been mounted on a custom-made frame of aluminium profiles and equipped with a steel vice.
The space beneath the workbench houses a Syncro Trolley. This useful, wheel-mounted accessory incorporates drawers and shelves for carrying tools and is a great companion for jobs that need to be done outside the van. The trolley can be loaded and unloaded easily using the ramp! Enough space remains under the bench on the left to carry a portable compressor.
This Mercedes Sprinter for a floor cleaning machine service has been equipped with a pivot-mounted loading ramp at the rear doors.
The ramp makes loading and unloading heavy wheeled floor sweepers a safe and effortless task.
The mounting system allows the ramp to pivot on one side. In this way, the folded ramp can be swung to one side to allow normal access to the load space.
Lighting: Five LED tube lights on the cross-members of the Sprinter’s roof provide even lighting throughout the cargo compartment. A sixth is installed under the cabinet on the bulkhead to illuminate the workbench.
Cargo retention: In addition to the SyncroBlock bar and lashing strap in the left-side floor compartment, two spray can racks have been fitted to the forward side panel of the right-side racking. A section of milled rail has also been added across the bottom of the bulkhead to provide anchorage for heavy-duty lashing straps.
In addition to the compressor we mentioned above, which is essential for powering pneumatic tools, the van is also equipped with an inverter and a multi-socket.
A custom-made wiring loom allow the van’s users to power all kinds of devices and tools. This is an essential addition to any mobile workshop that needs autonomy under all conditions.
Syncro has all the equipment you need for 100% autonomy. Our Ecoflow power station, for example, can be charged from solar panels on the van’s roof, the electrical mains or the van’s alternator.
If anyone can get the most out of your van, it’s Syncro System!
