Floor liners for vans: the details make the difference

Liners for vans

NEED A TOUGH FLOOR FOR YOUR VAN?

Whether you use your van only to transport goods and materials or intend to get it fitted out as a mobile workshop, a Syncro FLOOR LINER is the first thing you need to install. Syncro floor liners come in aluminium tread plate or in 12 mm thick birch plywood with a rubber-coated or marble-look resin surface and protect your van’s original floor while also providing a tough, even surface for installing racking.

Syncro supplies floor liners for all makes and models of van, from the Ford Connect to the Peugeot Boxer, from the Citroen Jumper to the Mercedes Vito. All 1,400 models come fully finished and can be installed in next to no time!

IT’S EASY TO DAMAGE YOUR VAN’S FLOOR WITHOUT A PROPER LINER

Manufacturers provide virtually no protection for the cargo compartments of the vans they sell, meaning that damage is virtually inevitable. Fitting a Syncro floor liner extends the life of your van and avoids expensive repairs.

FUNDAMENTAL FACTS: SYNCRO SYSTEM FLOOR LINERS COME COMPLETE WITH SPACERS

Nearly all van floors have raised ribbing and mouldings, designed to strengthen the structure. Ribbing is seldom evenly distributed and often leaves low sections of floor that require spacers to support a plywood or aluminium floor liner. Syncro System floor liners come with all the necessary spacers ready fitted in the right positions. When the liner is installed, these spacers stop it bending and breaking and help provide a stable, even surface for installing racking or carrying cargo. The photos above show how spacers on the underside of a Syncro plywood liner correspond accurately with the four low floor sections of the Trafic/Vivaro, so that the liner is perfectly even and stable once fitted.

THE ONLY ANCHOR RING CUPS MADE FROM STAINLESS STEEL

Syncro’s plywood floor liners come complete with recessed, stainless-steel cups for the original anchor rings, allowing cargo to be secured easily with ropes or straps. When not in use, the anchor rings lie flush with the surface of the liner so that they do not interfere with loading, unloading or movement inside the cargo compartment. Stainless steel construction ensures maximum strength and durability over time.

EXAMPLES OF FLOOR LINERS

These photos show marble-look plywood floor liners in a Caddy and a Ducato and a rubber-coated plywood liner in a Transporter. All these liners incorporate recessed cups for the original anchor rings and come complete with non-slip steel edging at the doors.

LINERS IN MARINE GRADE PLYWOOD OR ALUMINIUM TREAD PLATE

Syncro System floor liners all come ready for fitting. Made from strong but lightweight materials, they are ideal for use in commercial vehicles. Syncro liners are all cut to shape and size on the latest-generation CNC machines.

  • Plywood is made by laying thin sheets of wood from specially treated tree trunks one over another.
  • These ‘plies’ are arranged with the wood fibres facing in alternate directions to give maximum flexure resistance before being bonded together.
  • Syncro’s marine-grade plywood is 12 mm thick and bonded with phenolic resins to make it waterproof and damp resistant.
  • The upper surface is then coated either in non-slip, marble-look resin or high-grip rubber to provide a safe, walkable surface.
  • Syncro plywood floor liners boast excellent mechanical strength and durability.
  • Stainless steel edging is applied to protect the liner at all points of access.

Syncro aluminium tread plate liners are made from hard aluminium alloy with a non-slip relief surface.

  • These liners are ideal for transporting heavy loads.
  • They can be combined with a plywood under-liner for an even stronger floor.

DOUBLE-LAYER FLOOR LINERS IN BIRCH PLYWOOD + ALUMINIUM TREAD PLATE: MADE TO WIHSTAND THE HEAVIEST LOADS!

If you need to carry particularly heavy loads in your van, Syncro System can supply and fit a double-layer floor liner in birch plywood + aluminium tread plate.

This heavy-duty liner comprises a bottom layer in 9 mm thick birch plywood, complete with all the spacers needed to prevent bending and sagging, plus a top layer in 2 + 1.8 mm thick aluminium tread plate. The plywood layer is protected by the addition of stainless-steel edging between the two layers at all the doors. The result is a floor liner that can withstand, without bending, any load you are likely to carry in your van.

NEW MARBLE-LOOK FLOOR LINERS: CLEANER AND MORE ATTRACTIVE VANS!

Compared to the old brown finish, Syncro’s new marble-look liner surface offers a number of advantages:

  • A BRIGHTER CARGO COMPARTMENT thanks to a lighter coloured floor
  • EASIER CLEANING thanks to the absence of hollows where dirt can accumulate
  • SPOTS ARE HIDDEN by a pattern of dots resembling marble agglomerate
  • BETTER GRIP thanks to a hexagonal relief pattern

RUBBER-COATED FLOOR LINERS: TOUGH AND HIGH-GRIP!

Syncro’s 12 mm birch plywood floor liners are also available with a rice-grain rubber coating. Compared to conventional resin coatings, this rubber-coated surface delivers a series of advantages:

  • A BRIGHTER CARGO COMPARTMENT thanks to a lighter coloured floor
  • EASIER CLEANING thanks to the absence of hollows where dirt can accumulate
  • EXCELLENT RESISTANCE AND DURABILITY thanks to super-tough rubber
  • UNBEATABLE GRIP thanks to a relief rice-grain pattern

ALL 1,400 FLOOR LINER MODELS COME CUT TO SHAPE, PRE-DRILLED AND READY FOR INSTALLATION

You can get your van’s floor lined in one or two hours at the most! It only takes a few self-tapping screws and rivets, and a couple of hours, and the job is done.

COMPARISON WITH CONVENTIONAL VAN FLOOR LINERS: SYNCRO PLYWOOD GUARANTEES A MOULD-FREE SURFACE!

Conventional MDF or chipboard liners become damp and mouldy after a period of use. And damp is not good for you or your van! Syncro System plywood floor liners are made from a special, damp-proof, birch plywood and are protected by a coating of waterproof resin or rubber.

EXCLUSIVE, CERTIFIED NON-SLIP, STAINLESS-STEEL EDGE PROFILES

All Syncro marine-grade plywood floor liners come with stainless-steel edge protectors that are certified non-slip according to DIN 51130, grade R12. This added protection further extends the life of the liner by protecting its edges against impact damage.
