Meanwhile, on this page let’s take a look at a mobile workshop in a Mercedes Sprinter owned by a woodworking machinery firm.
The owners of this Mercedes Sprinter L2 H2 install, service and overhaul woodworking machines.
The vehicle is equipped with racking on both sides, and both configurations occupy all available space in height and length. The interior is laid out as a mobile workshop, with plenty of enclosed and open storage, a compact vice bench and several useful accessories.
When you speak to Syncro System’s racking experts, they will always recommend you install bodywork protection. Fitting liners is a fundamental aspect of any van transformation and we always suggest you do so as the first step!
The Sprinter in the photos on this page has had its floor original floor covered with a plywood liner with a marble-look surface and stainless-steel anchor ring cups and edge protectors. Marble-look plywood was also used to cover the bulkhead, where the precision of Syncro’s laser cutting machines is particularly evident. The panels are cut accurately to size and arranged to follow the contours of the van’s bodywork. Even the wheel arches are fully enclosed, using a combination of marble-look plywood for the vertical panels and steel for the the top covers.
The walls and doors are lined with honeycomb polypropylene panelling.
The left of the Sprinter is equipped with a combination of elements chosen to meet the needs of the customer. The left-side racking comprises:
A fold-away bench has been fixed to the rear-facing side panel. This simple accessory takes up very little space when closed but provides a useful, robust and effective work surface when extended. A metal vice has been mounted on a protective aluminium panel at the end of the bench.
...provided you use them, of course!
Syncro racking solutions always respect your working habits and aim to provide a dedicated space for each and every item, to prevent tools, tools and spare parts from being thrown into an untidy heap.
You then have just one simple task... to put everything back in its place after use!
The right of this Sprinter is equipped with a more compact racking configuration consisting of:
Now let’s see what accessories have been added to enhance the functionality of this Sprinter for installing and servicing woodworking machines.
Cargo retaining accessories: two milled bars with hooks and lashing straps for securing all kinds of loads are installed on the bulkhead. Four spray can racks are located on the rear-facing side panel of the right-side racking where they can be accessed from the ground.
Cleaning and safety accessories: the side panel of the left racking is fitted with a vertically mounted paper roll holder at the top and a first aid kit at the bottom.
Lighting accessories: LED tube lights applied to the roof cross-members ensure even lighting throughout the cargo compartment.
