A Ducato L2 H2 for a plumber

A complete mobile workshop for a plumber in a Fiat Ducato

For some trades, having everything at the ready is essential: it means working more efficiently, projecting a more professional image and saving time and money. So, what’s the secret of constant readiness? An orderly van!

And what’s the easiest way to ensure order in your van? A custom-made racking system from Syncro!

The Fiat Ducato L2 H2 in these photos is owned by a plumber who also installs air conditioning and heating systems. The vehicle is fitted with racking on all three walls and boasts an extensive range of accessories to ensure maximum functionality in all situations. Let’s take a closer look.

A premium lining system to extend the Ducato’s working life

An orderly van also requires cleanliness and an intact interior. Unfortunately, the bodywork of new vans is nearly always unprotected and therefore exposed to dents and scratches. This not only makes cleaning more difficult and spoils the van’s appearance but even risks shortening the vehicle’s life if rust sets in. That is why Syncro System ALWAYS recommends the installation of liners to protect a van’s bodywork against damage and to create a clean and uniform interior.

In this plumber’s Ducato L2 H2, the floor is covered by a marble-look plywood floor liner of a kind unique on today’s market for the spacers used to install it and for its tough, stainless-steel anchor ring cups and edge profiles. The walls and doors are lined with custom-made steel panels. This type of lining panel gives racking systems maximum resilience in the event of a collision or fierce braking. One area of panelling on the right wall, directly above the work bench, is provided by perforated panels that can be used as tool racks during the maintenance and repair operations performed inside the van.

Storage in the Ducato L2 H2: highly functional, highly professional

The large number of storage elements installed in this plumber’s Fiat Ducato practically guarantees an orderly interior. A total of 68 transparent containers are found in this van!

  • On the left of the van we have two floor-level compartments delimited at the front by bottom profiles; six drawers with Syncro’s patented, automatic latching and release mechanism, non-slip bottom mats and metal space dividers; ten configurable shelves, including two right at the top; and two shaped shelves for removable plastic containers, in two different sizes.
  • On the right of the van are a floor-level compartment that is only partly delimited by a raised front profile, so that the area in front of the wheel arch is left easily accessible; another seven drawers and one tray containing a case; and a number of patented Multibox cabinets above the work bench and over the side door, providing a total of 44 transparent containers, some tilting and others pull-out.
  • On the van’s bulkhead is a third set of five drawers, two Multibox cabinets containing another 24 transparent containers and a shelf installed as a container at floor level.

Not one but two work benches, both with electrical power sockets

An efficient workshop simply must have a good work bench for minor adjustments and repairs. The team that fitted out this Ducato L2 H2 certainly took this policy very seriously indeed. The van is equipped with not one but two work benches: one on the right, complete with a steel vice, and one on the bulkhead, where it is accessible even from outside the van. Both work surfaces are formed by panels of marble-look plywood supported by racking, and both are served by multi-sockets connected to an inverter and via this to the van’s own battery. A complete wiring system has been installed by Syncro’s electrical department.

Cargo retaining accessories in the Ducato L2 H2

Such a well-equipped workshop had to have a good selection of accessories. Most of the accessories installed take the form of holders for tools and equipment. Two spray can racks are positioned near the side door and a cable holder and a large number of metal and plastic tool clips are fitted to the rear-facing side panel of the left racking. The left rear door too is equipped with two sections of Syncroblock bar, arranged in parallel one at the top and one in the middle, with a total of four movable telescopic hooks. Syncro racking and accessories can even be removed from one van to another. No trace is left, reassembly is easy, and the racking remains as robust as ever!

Cleaning and other accessories in the Ducato L2 H2

To improve the organisation of this vehicle even further, its owner asked Syncro to install a set of accessories for cleaning hands and tools. The right rear door is equipped with a handwash kit consisting of a water container with tap, complete with its own holder and strap, a paper roll holder and a holder for Scrubs dry wipes.

To ensure complete satisfaction and help the customer work more professionally, the Syncro team also added:
