Today’s racking solution: a Ducato L2 H2 for a power generation company
Syncro System has fitted out tens of thousands of vans, all differently (except when explicitly requested by customers). Today we are looking in detail at a 2006 MY Fiat Ducato L2 H2. This medium-sized vehicle is operated by a company that installs and services electricity generation and telecommunication systems.
The van has been converted into a mobile workshop with two columns of racking, one on the right and one on the left, and an area of side wall equipped only with lashing accessories.
The more you cover now, the less you spend in future
Bodywork liners perform several important functions, but the main one is obviously protection. Safely hidden under robust liners, your van’s original body panels are protected from dents and cuts and have nothing to fear from rust. It’s up to you to decide what surfaces to protect, but the more the better!
In this particular Fiat Ducato, the floor is covered with a marble-look plywood floor liner with protective metal edge profiles. The wheel arches are enclosed by vertical panels of marble-look plywood and steel top covers. The sides and doors are lined with custom-made, painted steel panels.
How space is arranged on the left of the Ducato
The left side is divided into two halves: that nearest the rear doors has been left free and equipped only with lashing systems while the inner half has been equipped with a full-height column of racking.
The free section of wall is intended as a storage area for bulky equipment and materials and is therefore fitted with two parallel sections of Syncroblock bar complete with hooks and straps.
The racking column consists of:
- a floor-level case compartment with a bar at the back, a lashing strap, adjustable fittings and an end plate;
- six metal drawers of different heights, with the two smallest fitted with plastic trays for carrying small parts and spares
- three configurable shelves with internal space dividers, partly enclosed by Syncro’s patented lift-and-rotate doors
- two open shelves with adapters for Euronorm plastic containers

Thanks to the amazing versatility of Syncro racking, any combination of elements is possible.
Starting at the bottom, the racking on the right of this Ducato consists of:
- a floor-level compartment over the wheel arch that turns this otherwise awkward space into practical storage thanks to the addition of two hook and strap lashing systems at the front
- two open shelves arranged with their flanges facing up and equipped with lift and-rotate doors that fold down to provide easy access
- two specially shaped shelves for plastic containers, containing a total of 16 removable bins
