A Ducato L2 H2 for machine maintenance

More order, less time-wasting and other benefits, all from a Syncro racking solution!

A van racking system by Syncro really can change the way you work. Think of those tough days, where unexpected calls come in and your services are requested over and over again without giving you a chance to return to base! Without a fully equipped van and a well supplied mobile warehouse, you would be forced to leave jobs half done, waste time driving home to pick up missing items, and leave customers dissatisfied with broken promises to solve their problems rapidly.

Now consider how differently the same kind of day would go in a van with an efficient work area complete with a bench and vice and plenty of storage for all the tools, spares and sundries you need.

This is the normal scenario when you drive a van fitted out by Syncro, like the Fiat Ducato L2 H2 illustrated on this page.

These photos show a Ducato L2 H2 with custom-made liners, racking and accessories for servicing heavy handling equipment.

Syncro’s racking technicians have installed racking on both sides of the van, creating a workshop area on the left and a warehouse section on the right, and adding accessories for every possible requirement at strategic locations. Last but not least, the van is equipped with a fully autonomous energy system in the form of a compressor-generator combo, wiring harness, multi-socket and compressed air hose reel.

The Fiat Ducato’s lining system

Liners are a precondition for a long-lasting van – and for a long-lasting racking system too! Installing a robust set of liners to protect the interior surfaces of your van’s bodywork prevents the sort of dents and scratches that can cause irreparable damage to its sheet metal panels, allowing rust to penetrate and requiring expensive bodywork repairs.

The floor in this Ducato is protected by a marble-look plywood floor liner with steel edge profiles and anchor ring cups. Panels of the same material cover the bulkhead, arranged to follow the contours of the bodywork.

The walls and doors are lined with steel panelling sturdy enough to withstand wear and tear and to support racking and accessories.

The Ducato’s workshop: simple, functional, with everything to hand

The racking on the left of the Fiat Ducato is designed to serve the work area and is configured as follows:

  • The large, sturdy workbench in marble-look plywood, complete with a raised rear edge, is supported by eight metal drawers. The an area at floor level has been converted into practical storage by adding a lift-up door;
  • The wall above the worktop is equipped with a tool rack panel. An LED tube light illuminates the work area from under the full-length top tray that completes the configuration at the top. A multi-socket near the rear doors provides electrical power for using power tools and electrical devices.

The forward section of the wall is divided into two levels. At the bottom it has been left completely open and houses a compressor-generator combo complete with compressed air tank. At the top are two configurable shelves with metal space dividers and non-slip mats. On the left rear door is a handwash kit with tap and a soap dispenser.

A mobile warehouse with carefully chosen elements on the right of Ducato

Most of the storage in this Fiat Ducato is located on the right wall.

  • At floor level is a compartment with a door identical to that on the opposite side of the van.
  • The next level up is divided into a forward column with two drawers and three patented case trays, and a rear section with a sealed tray and lashing strap for carrying jerry cans.
  • The deeper part of the racking ends with a configurable shelf. Above this are two rows of more compact cabinets with transparent tilting containers that can be removed easily when needed.
  • On the side panel near the rear doors is a fold-away vice bench with an integrated support and a metal vice. Above it, a paper roll holder completes the set of cleaning accessories installed in this van. Finally, a small metal shelf combined with hooks and lashing strap has been fixed to the rear door.

What about the bulkhead? Two accessories turn it into a universal storage area

The bulkhead of this Fiat Ducato for servicing heavy machinery has been transformed into a versatile space capable of carrying all sorts of cargo.

An Airline rail with hooks and lashing strap has been fixed to the bulkhead with two metal hooks above it. Also fixed to the bulkhead near the side door is a compressed air hose reel. A slide for carrying generators and the like occupies the floor.
