Racking for door and gate automation technicians

AUTOMATION FOR HOUSE AND GARAGE DOORS AND GATES: PUTTING TECHNOLOGY TO USE

Home automation is, without a doubt, one of the great conveniences of modern life. The remote operation of gates and the possibility to open and close doors and skylights automatically are small but welcome advances that we increasingly cannot do without. In recent years there has been an explosion in the number of companies specialising in the installation and repair of remotely controlled doors and gates. Installing and commissioning systems of this kind requires more than just metalworking, carpentry and assembly skills, however. Automation technicians need an understanding of electro-technics, electronics and information technology as well as mechanical skills and the ability to fit door and window frames. They also need a good van to carry around all the tools, components and materials they need to work at customers’ premises. Automation technicians do most of their work at their customers’ homes. In fact, the most delicate and complicated part of the job is always done on the spot: at the front door, the entrance to the driveway, or the entrance to the garage. It’s easy to see that door and gate automation technicians cannot do without a van to carry their tools and all the equipment and sundries they need to automate opening and closing systems. Syncro System has installed racking and storage systems in thousands of vans, of all makes and models, over almost twenty years of activity, and can provide home automation technicians with exactly the right upfit for the job.

SYNCRO SYSTEM TRANSFORMS HOME AUTOMATION TECHNICIANS’ VANS INTO EFFICIENT TRAVELLING WORKSHOPS

Syncro System specialises in the production and installation of linings, accessories and modular storage for commercial vehicles. Through its subsidiaries all over Europe, South America and New Zealand, Syncro System can transform the load compartment of any van into a functional, orderly and fully customised mobile workshop. Syncro’s modular storage concept and the vast range of sizes in which all types of unit are available allows Syncro installers to design and assemble unique solutions that perfectly match customers’ needs. Like all tradesmen, door and gate automation technicians benefit from the efficiency and smart design of Syncro racking and storage. Syncro upfits let you enjoy all the advantages of a tidy and well organised load compartment, with everything stowed neatly in dedicated drawers, cabinets and shelves. And if the storage is complemented by accessories like a vice support or work bench, your van can easily serve as a workshop on wheels where jobs can be completed just as safely and practically as back at base.

SYNCRO TURNS A SIMPLE LOAD COMPARTMENT INTO A CUSTOM-BUILT MOBILE WORKSHOP FOR A DOOR AND GATE AUTOMATION TECHNICIAN

The van in the photo gallery bears eloquent witness to the way in which Syncro System not only optimises but multiplies available space by installing custom storage and accessories. The van in the photos was fitted out for a company that assembles and installs remotely controlled doors and gates. As a result of the upfit, operators can use the van not only as a spacious and orderly means of transport but as a mobile base for all the work and testing that has to be done on site. The vehicle is fitted with custom storage and racking on both sides. As always, before the storage units as such were installed, Syncro did everything necessary to consolidate the van’s interior walls and floor. The side walls were lined with pre-cut panels made from painted sheet metal and the floor was covered with a panel of non-slip, marine grade plywood. Syncro System considers proper protection of this kind essential to avoid scratches, dents and other damage to the bodywork. The base for the storage on the left side consists of two wheel arch cabinets with metal doors. These also provide useful space for materials and equipment. Above, we find two types of drawer unit and, at the top, a section of shelving. A silicone tube holder has also been fitted to the rear of the cabinets on this side of the van. On the opposite side we can see another wheel arch cabinet, complete with door, and three units of transparent drawers, the ideal solution for storing nuts, bolts, small electrical components and other items of hardware in an orderly fashion so that they can be located instantly. Syncro’s transparent drawers are particularly practical, robust and long lasting, thanks to a series of patented design solutions like an incorporated automatic locking button and the use of transparent PMMA, the same tough material used to make aeroplane windows. The area near the bulkhead is destined for the transport of bulky materials or heavy items of equipment like compressors. Loads of this type can be lashed securely in place thanks to robust straps and an aluminium rail that runs across the bulkhead.
