If you install and service civil and industrial building systems, a well-equipped van is absolutely essential, as you work takes you to customers’ homes or construction sites often at some distance from your place of business. Your van therefore has to serve as a mobile workshop, complete with work space and storage for everything you need on the job.
The vehicle described on this page is a
Citroen Jumpy, a medium-size van operated by a firm that specialises in
plumbing, electrical and video surveillance systems for homes, offices and factories. The Syncro racking solution includes:
- robust liners for the floor, walls and doors
- racking with various types of storage on both side walls
- cargo retaining accessories on the bulkhead and on the racking side panels
Dragging heavy material around, moving equipment and tools and climbing into and out of the van innumerable times a day can lead to dents, scratches, rust and irreparable damage in very little time. To avoid this risk, the floor of this
Jumpy has been covered with a
marble-look plywood floor liner, a solution that that is attractive to look at, easy to clean, non-slip and durable! A van’s walls and doors are obviously subject to different kinds of stress but can still be damaged in similar ways. Here too,
robust liners help prevent damage and keep the bodywork looking good for years to come. The bodywork of the Jumpy seen in these photos has been protected with
prepainted steel liners.
If your main purpose in fitting out your van is to carry an adequate stock of everything you need, then drawers and shelves in one form or another are your best starting point. This particular Citroen Jumpy is fitted with:
- metal drawers with recessed handles, a non-slip mat and internal space dividers for keeping different items in separate compartments
- plain shelves, also with mats and space dividers
- a case compartment with a ratchet-type shuttle that presses cases securely against an end plate inside one of the side panels, a super-flexible system that lets you carry a number of cases, even of different shapes and sizes
- two floor-level compartments delimited by profiles (and, in one case, partly enclosed by a door) that turn awkwardly shaped spaces into useful storage
The Jumpy shown here has various cargo retaining accessories fitted to a number of surfaces:
- The side panels of the right and left side racking near the rear door are fitted with steel hooks that can be adjusted to any depth between 140 and 190 mm. These accessories are fitted directly to the holes in the Ultra side panels. The van user can therefore move them around easily to suit changing needs.
- The bulkhead is fitted with two aluminium slide bars, the upper one equipped with movable telescopic hooks, the lower one equipped with fittings and a strap.
- A powerful LED ceiling light guarantees excellent illumination of the whole cargo compartment.
