A Berlingo Citroen for an electrician

An electrician needs a well-equipped van to carry around all the tools, spares and materials he needs to work away from base. Small to medium size vans are often preferred as they are easy to park and manoeuvre on construction sites where other commercial vehicles are constantly on the move and are easy to drive on narrow roads and in heavy traffic too.  The photos shown above illustrate a Citroen Berlingo that Syncro System fitted out for an electrician. The Berlingo features an average-size cargo compartment that is more than adequate for the needs of this customer.  As you can see from the equally spaced holes in the side panels, this system has been constructed using Syncro Ultra racking. Only the left side wall has been used, the right side of the van and the centre of the floor being left free to create a spacious corridor for access and for carrying bulky items of cargo.

The Berlingo and its Syncro Ultra racking for an electrician. First of all, the liners

Even when racking installations are confined to just one side wall, the Syncro team still takes the greatest care over design and installation.  Before starting to install the agreed racking configuration, the team protected the floor of this Berlingo with a marble-look plywood floor liner. Syncro floor liners come ready cut for each model of van, so a perfect fit is guaranteed, enabling the liner to offer maximum protection against scratches and dents. Metal cups are fitted over the original floor anchor rings to keep them fully functional once the liner is in place.

The Berlingo’s racking: shelves, drawers, case transport and accessories

The racking on the left side of this electrician’s Berlingo consists of:
  • A floor-level compartment that is completely open between the two side panels. Inside is a case transport system consisting of a wall-mounted metal bar with a sliding fitting and straps for lashing cases against the end panel. The compartment extends for the full length of the wall and is therefore capable of holding a large number of tool and component cases, arranged vertically. Cases do not need to be the same size or shape.
  • Three metal drawers and a case tray containing a Syncro Galaxy transparent plastic case.
  • Two open shelves, one with a raised back panel and both fitted with non-slip mats.
  • The racking is fitted with one extremely useful accessory at the van’s rear doors: a silicone cartridge rack with nine holes for cartridges and nine for nozzles.
Plenty of space remains free at the rear of the racking for fitting other accessories in future – a job the customer can easily do himself using the equally spaced holes in the panel. This is one of the main advantages of the Syncro Ultra system, which exponentially increases the potential for combining different Syncro elements inside the van!
